You should read up on Lyre Harps and then pick this one. 19 strings with a beautiful sound. And check out this color oh my!!! More lovely in person than you know. Just the right size. And price is good because the quality stands out with this one. After tuning and playing daily for a week the strings hold the note very well. I am so pleased

From my 13 year old:I am completely satisfied with my harp! It came in perfect, nothing wrong with it; worth it's weight in gold! Of course, I had to tune it several times, but now it holds it's tune very well. It seems durable, just don't pull with all your might on them. The apperance looks nice, and it is very comfortable to hold. As far as tuning it, I would recommend the app Gstrings. It is easy for beginners to use. The only negitave is the fact that you cannot access the strings from both sides (which is not a real problem for me, but it might be for some people). Also, technically, this is a left-handed harp, but that dosen't matter unless you switch to a right-handed harp. If your fingers are not used to playing on strings, it can take a while for calluses to build up, be forewarned! All in all, I would say that is worth every dollar I paid for it and it deserves a five star review!

My only complaint is that the tuning wrench pictured is not the one that was included . The one sent was plain metal with no grip that hurt my hands to use . The lyre itself sounds lovely & I would recommend it , but if you have mobility / joint issues or chronic pain you may want to purchase a separate tuning wrench .Tuning it did take a while because I've never tuned an instrument before , but it is very much worth the time and effort . The size is perfect for me , as a short person with small hands ! I specifically purchased this one because it came with all of the accessories pictured & a safe case to store it and carry it around in . Slightly disappointed about the wrench , but overall happy with my purchase .

This is a REAL instrument. I’ve played guitar for YEARS. The strings are “new” strings. They give and take. I’d suggest tuning them to be close to pitch then let the instrument sit for a couple of days. Then retune and it will help. It’s does hold a pitch very well. But as with any acoustic instrument will need to be tuned before playing. But the sound!!! This lyre sings!! Its resonance is very good. Wonderful instrument.

Gorgeous instrument. Tunes well (yes new strings have to stretch and settle) Holds tuning better than I expected. Lovely craftsmanship on cutout stag and carved vines. Shape of lyre is flowing and pleasing. If you know nothing about musical instruments or music theory you will be challenged, but in C major (A minor) you can play almost any song. You just have to start on the right note. I find the tone of this lyre quite beautiful. It has lovely resonance and volume control is easy. I did not receive the cleaning cloth as advertised, but tuner wrench, picks, and elementary booklet were there, as were the extra string set. If you tune gently, you won't break the strings. They will wear out eventually, but that's what steel strings do. For this price, I never expected such a nice lyre.

This harp is beautiful in both its craftsmanship and sound. I'm totally new to this type of instrument, but I think it's easy to learn. It did take awhile for the tuning to settle (about 2 weeks), but once it did, everything sounds and plays great. I look forward to mastering this lovely instrument!

Wonderful instrument! It would take some patience for beginners to learn, but is was easy for me to adjust to as a current musician.Be aware that you will need to tune it frequently at first because it is a new instrument and the strings will adjust. It’s not broken! Be patient and keep playing and it will eventually stay in tune longer.

I love that you can not know anything about instruments or music and make beautiful sounds with this Lyre. It is tricky to tune at first, (I found an app. that I use that makes it pretty easy) and after the first few day it holds its tune pretty well. I did find a canvas belt to use as an off hand strap, so I can use it both handed, and I use a piece of a yoga mat to hold it secure on my lap. It is "slippery". It is really fun to "play" with, and like I said it has a really beautiful sound.
