Perfect to replace lower quality unit that stopped working
I previously installed an aftermarket Kenwood stereo in my 2003 Ford Expedition, and I also installed 4 cameras and a video switcher to allow me to have great visibility while driving. I particularly love the cameras under the side view mirrors that automatically appear on the screen when the turn signals are activated. However, the backup camera started cutting out and frequently would not show an image at all. I tried to replace just the camera with a 2nd one of the same model that I had for a different project, but it appears my issue was in the wiring between the camera and the display. This is a bit of an involved installation as I had to disassemble most of the tailgate, run the video wire through the factory grommet which doesn't have much space (dish soap was very helpful to lubricate the grommet and wire), and then route the wire from the back of the vehicle to the front hiding it under the door jambs and through the dash to the display. It took me a few hours to do all of that, but the new camera worked perfectly. The quality of the image is very good, and the cost of the unit was very competitive. I appreciate the multiple mounting options, and I chose to attach it to the rear of the license plate using the provided bracket. It looks great and doesn't interfere with the latch for opening the tailgate. We have had a couple of rainstorms, and the waterproofing of the camera seems to be as expected with no issues. I recommend this camera to anyone looking to add a new camera or replace a defective aftermarket unit!

Works well, looks good
Solid back-up camera. Comes with an 8 meter RCA + Power cable, and the camera side has its own cable which is also about a meter long. I've installed 2 of these now on full size trucks. I like that the license plate bracket tucks behind the license plate so the install looks tidy and clean. The only feature I can't commend on is the AHD resolution as neither of the head units I used support it. However the "normal" lower resolution looks good. The night vision is effective. The only suggestion I would make for improvement is to also include a ground along with the power on the 8 meter cable. As it comes you either need to ground the camera somewhere within about a meter of where you mount it, or you'll need to provide your own extra ground wire to extend it. Personally I prefer to grab my power and ground both at the dashboard rather than grounding with a self-tapper somewhere at the back of the vehicle.

Great Camera
Hereโs a cleaner version: Works great. The video quality is surprisingly good, especially at night even with little to no light. Setup was pretty easy overall. My only complaint is that the included power cable is a bit short, which made cable management harder than it needed to be. Other than that, no issues.

UPDATED - REPLACEMENT WORKS WELL - Died after a month.
UPDATE - Seller sent me a warranty replacement, stating that the product had a 3 year warranty. The new item works great! The image is clear and I'm very happy with it. Regarding the installation of the new unit, I only had to replace the camera unit itself rather than re-run all cables which definately saved time. Some background to the original unit failure; I noticed that the original unit failed during the winter when we were getting a fair amount of rain and freezing temperatures. When the weather improved, the camera began to opperate intermittantely but the image seemed cloudier that when I first installed. I was curious about the failure, so after installing the new unit, I opened the old one for inspection. On the inside, there was good potting to seal the unit from water instrusion, however, I did see signs of water with oxidation on the aluminum housing interior. I believe that water got into the camera, froze, and prevented functionality. When temps rose and the camera dried out, partial funtionality returned. To prevent issues with the new unit, I used a combination of hot glue in the screw holes and self-annealing tape around the housing seam to bolster the water resistance. This is probably overkill, but I don't want to go through another install. All in all, I'm happy with the product and the seller. OLD REVIEW: I really liked this product for the first month.... then it started crapping out and I got pretty frustrated. While the product worked, I was pleased with the image quality. Regarding installation, I felt that it was about as easy as installing any backup camera could be that requires routing cables. After a month, the camera began to bounce between a static images and 'no connection'. A month later, the camera came back on which gave me hope.... but then it stopped again. The installation of any backup camera is a pain when it comes to cleanly routing the cables. As such, I took great care to ensure all connections were robust, by solding, using strain relief, and reinforcing connections with splicing tape to assure they did not separate. Beware before you buy.... I don't typically leave poor reviews, but I don't want others to suffer through an install only to have to do it again.

quality and good price
lovely image quality, easy enough to install, good instructions for how to tweak the settings. installed on a Ford F350 with a service body because backing that thing up is hard.

Why search further? Perfect Camera & Great Seller/Vendor
This is a review for the HD05 Camera (w/license plate bracket). I've not been paid nor incentivized to provide review. Rarely do I write reviews, but I feel this product (and Seller) deserve one. 5 star+ I knew little to anything about aftermarket reverse cameras as I've had various fty. installed cameras (since 2006). In other words, I've never had to look for (nor hv. experience with quality of) an aftermarket camera. However, I do hv. a vehicle without any reverse camera, and when my HU (aka radio) needed replacement and the new HU had an option to add cameras I figured let me add a reverse camera. So I began researching the myriad options on Amazon. So many looked to have similar function/image quality (as well as similar issues like fogging or water damage after time). So how is one to choose?! Of course the experience with Seller (aka reviews) could be important (after all if such product fails down the road e.g. fog/water you need a good seller to back it). However, what immediately caught my attention here what that the Seller (or maker) claimed to have studied the many camera options & issues but more importantly found a way to distinguish their item from (most of) the rest. Whereas most if not all similar items on Amzn are plastic housing, theirs was METAL. The watertight seal (nano technology) also seemed to focus on the main quality/defect issues (fog/water damage over time). The claim (and sounds legitimate) is that plastic contracts/expands with weather over time compromising a camera's seal (whereas metal doesn't). That's prob. true (depends on metal type also) and only time will tell if this camera holds up (better) b/c I just installed it a few days ago. When I removed the product from box, I immediately noticed the quality feel and weight of the item (just as others). In fact, the weight makes it lightly that it's steel or similar (rather than aluminum), so if contracts or expands at all (over time) steel (I believe) will be less apt (if at all) to change (and certainly to warp). Too technical, sorry. Let's get to the point. Installation wasn't the easiest (at least for me) but the hardest (aka time consuming) part is really running the wiring from the HU to back. The 4 pin (red) connecter is great b/c it allows just a small(er) hole to be made near license plate. Make sure you connect the ground wire (see instructions) securely to a good bolt affixed to car. That will make the difference between a great picture and poor (or no) picture. Don't ask how I know :( In doing research about wiring cams, (especially in cars with Canbus), it's highly recommended to get power to camera using a stable constant 12V source (ex. cig lighter wire or tap a fuse, etc.), RATHER than powering it strictly from the reverse wire (near blub or elsewhere). You did this by way of a relay (search web). The reverse wire serves (only) as a trigger to close the relay so that the 12V stable power source from elsewhere (which is also connected to relay, then provides the screen its power (not the reverse wire....that's just the trigger). You will get best picture this way. This step may or may not be necessary on your car (some can get away with using the reverse wire directly for both power and trigger and without buying a spearate relay to wire up as described). I didn't finish wiring by relay b/c a little bit more time consuming and found that when I grounded well the reverse wire (alone) as power provided an acceptable picture for me. Picture is excellent on this camera. Plenty bright at night too (and I don't hv. LED reverse lights)! Seller is fantastic!!! Alice answers promptly always, great attitude and was able to help (even above the call of duty) when I was having an issue. They are there to back the product, no question! Great experience so far! Buy it; it's great and seller is great!

Good Camera
Video Quality: I installed the Pixelman backup camera, and the video clarity is very good. Color is ok, and Iโm fortunate I can increase the color setting on my head unit. Dynamic range is decent and does not blow out from what Iโve seen so far. Night time video is ok, but much better than the Autovox CMD24 camera which was useable, but very grainy/noisy. Frame rate is smooth. Reliability: I have this installed with constant 12v power when the car is on, and this has not given me any issues for the past two weeks of driving. Form Factor: The camera is small, but not as small as the Autovox CMD24. I believe it still achieves the discreet appearance I was looking for. Installation: Installation is straightforward, and one of my reasons to purchase this specific camera is the slim 4-pin connections to minimize the cut into my grommet. I purchased a 4-pin extension cable to route the supplied power converter near the fuse box and replaced the supplied video rca with a smaller cable since the fuse box is in close proximity to the head unit. Please note it seems not many backup camerasโ power converter includes a female rca connection, as the rca cable is usually hardwired with a very long cable. Value: This camera seems like a very good value for the price ($30 around the time of this review) Customer Service: Very responsive when I requested the free offer of a video monitor to test, since I was not able to install the camera immediately after purchase. Additional Details for Reference: Some details to help understand my review perspective: - installed on Porsche 911 997.1 - using Alpine ilx-w650 to view backup camera (480p screen) -have used on sunny days, nighttime, and inclement weather (rainy)

Stopped working less than 1 year after install
Stopped working less than 1 year after install. This camera should have lifetime warranty but there is no contact info anywhere Amazon just redirects to manufacturer's website but there is no customer service or contact info, I had to contact amazon support chat, let's see if there is a warranty after all you may be better buying similar camera from aliexpress for $10; if there is no difference why pay more?

Question for seller
I'm not sure how I can ask the seller a question so I do this as a review. I installed the camera and everything is fine except that the guidance lines are pointing slightly up in the air. I can't figure out how to adjust the lines. The camera can only be adjusted up and not down on the bracket. Please advise what I need to do please

Easy to install, excellent quality image
I bought this camera to install in my Ford F250 and connect to Pioneer AVH-240EX head unit. I was really amazed with the quality of the video and ease of installation, the connector is very small and easy to pass through a tiny holes. It comes with all the tools required for installation and long enough wire for installing in longer vehicles. Included instructions are very clear and easy to follow. After sales support is excellent. I am very satisfied with the product, support and the over all build quality. Great buy for this price.

Awesome backup camera
Usually donโt write reviews but this camera was easy to install and worked brilliantly with a KENWOOD deck. Nice and clear image. Instructions were good as well. Best part is that itโs small so is easy to install in tight areas and comes with different mounting options as well.

Stopped working after 6 months
The camera worked good until it stopped working adout 6 months after installation. The connections are good, signal RCA cable is good and the camera is getting 12V with a good ground. (I Used another camera to confirm). I live in Canada where it gets fairly cold however these cameras should be able to function in cold weather. I believe that water might have gotten into the camera somehow.

Quality built.
This is nice back up camera. I bought this one to replace another back up camera that has led lights for apparently better night vision but only seemed to cause glare problems. This camera doesn't have the led lights on it which is better. It uses its own ability for night vision and it's a good quality view in night vision mode. Also, it's made with a metal housing which seems more durable long term than the plastic housing. Only time will tell if this metal housing avoids rusting as the plastic cameras never have rust issues.
