Cumbor 30-40.6 in Baby Gate for Stairs and Doorways, Dog Gate Indoor Black

I bought the two-pack of Cumbor 29.7-48 in baby gates a few months ago to keep my granddaughter safe around the stairs. The order arrived on time and in perfect condition. Assembly was easy, and the instructions were accurate step by step. Mark B The gates have worked perfectly since day one. Two features stand out: Smart door action: The door stays open when you swing it to 90 degrees, so your hands are free when carrying a baby, laundry, or groceries. Otherwise it closes automatically, so there's no worry about someone forgetting to latch it. Quality construction: The materials are excellent and should last well beyond the years she'll need them. The powder-coated finish is high quality too. My granddaughter visits often, so I liked these enough to buy one for my own house as well. Highly recommended for any parent or grandparent who wants a sturdy, dependable stair gate. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

When I first took it out of the box I thought it was going to be a nightmare to install. As I started to assemble it became abundantly clear where the pieces go and I completed the installation in 15 minutes. I never had to drill into anything as the pressure clamps were more than sufficient to hold the gate in place. The door opens and closes easily and locks in to place where a little one can’t pry it open. Highly recommend it.

We have actually a lot of gates that we’ve used in our home over the years. Right now we have 3 of these. I found these to be the best product overall. Very stable and easy to install with excellent instructions. There’s also an installation video and an extra zip tie (If you happen to be dumb and mess up the installation like I did the first time - they make it obvious how to avoid that). My only complaint is that I wish that they included two more wall cushions. They have two white wall cushions per gate, which are really designed to compensate for the difference between a baseboard and a wall when mounting these. They obviously need to recommend mounting because of baby safety, etc. but we actually use these mostly for our dogs and I have never had to mount one firmly to a wall. The tension is tight enough that they will hold up even to 30 pound puppies. That is particularly helpful in mounting on things such as on stairsteps where you don’t want to actually drill the rail posts or use the 3M stick on pads that come with them.. You really need four of these pads if you’re going to mount them with tension only - we supplement the ones that come with “Wall Nanny” cushions that hold pretty tight against the wall and don’t tend to leave any damage (see pics). Overall, super purchase very effective and well-made.

I was blown away by so many great things about these gates! 1. So easy to install (one person can easily do it in most cases - if you have uneven walls or corners to work with, grab a buddy!) 2. The unique things on the gate to help you install it correctly are amazing (a red zip tie to keep the gap correct, once you e got it installed, cut the red zip tie and adjust the 4 parts that tough the wall to get it straight. When it’s perfectly aligned, a slick little tab of metal drops from its locked position to let you know all is good!) such a winning design and easy instructions! 3. They’re much more low profile than gates we used in the past. They look great! 4. They open seamlessly with one hand (first time ever for us!) and close tightly behind me when I have my hands full if I open it less than 90 degrees - it stays open at 90 degrees in case I need to come and go. 5. The support that holds it square and correctly to the floor under the center/gate opening part means a single human can install these and it stands up while you’re doing the install. It also stops me from tripping over the bottom rail. Buy these!!!!! The product is amazing and top notch!

These are really great gates and I was happy to find one that would fit the wide opening I needed to block. I would have given it five stars, but I panicked when I read the instructions. There are 8 configurations that cover different widths and there is a "gap" between each configuration of about half an inch SO IF your space has that particular measurement then one configuration is too small and the next one is too big! (see photo of manual) Luckily my measurement worked BUT the gate cannot be installed safely/properly if you have quarter-round on your baseboard. Lucky again, my house has a custom square piece instead of quarter-round so I just had to add a block of wood to give the mounting hardware a place to sit firmly. I also had some wood detail that stuck out on one side, but it still worked. The other issue was that the measurement at the top AND the measurement at the bottom of your space both have to fall within one expansion configuration or the gate can't be installed. I lucked out once again because it was close and they did include extension "bumpers" that can sometimes solve this problem. (shown in photo) The center ramp is wonderful because it really helped with the install and stability of the gate. Easy to operate and keeps the dogs out of the guest area of the basement. It feels like it will hold up well. Overall this gate worked for me but if the stars hadn't aligned, I can't imagine how difficult it would be to repackage this gate to return it....

The Cumbor baby gate is the best bang for your buck. It has so many great features and is well constructed. It has a removable section to adjust to almost any door frame size and stays put once installed. The instructions were easy to follow and set up took less than 5 minutes. I also love the fact that it can open both ways and stays open at 90° for easy entry. I’ve tried a lot of other baby gates and wasted time and money when I should have done my research and bought the Cumbor gate first. I can’t recommend this gate enough!

We absolutely love this Cumbor gate. We originally bought one to try because we needed something sturdy that we could walk through easily without having to remove the whole gate every time, and it has been perfect for us. The latch is excellent — easy for an adult to open, but it closes securely and feels very solid. We also love the auto-close feature and the fact that the gate feels substantial without being difficult to use. Installation was straightforward for our flat doorframe, and once it was in place it felt very sturdy. We liked the first one so much that we immediately ordered more for other areas of the house. That probably says it all! We are using them for our dog, and they have made moving around the house so much easier. Very happy with the quality, appearance, and especially the way the door opens and latches. Highly recommend.

OMGsh, I should have bought this months ago, too! I had two 42 year old wooden pressure baby gates I was using to keep my 67 lb ACD, now GS puppy, and visiting grandson out of certain rooms. I had to release pressure on these gates, readjusting to get in and out. Every time, it was damaging my door frames and walls. After hours of researching, I decided to buy this Cumbar baby gate to replace my 2 old adjustable wooden baby gates. When I opened the box, felt the metal gate, it screamed quality built and materials. Overall, it was easy to assemble. My entryway was 35"...though the larger extension fit in the space, it raised above the floor baseboards, which would be a tripping hazard. I changed to the smaller extension where it would fit on the floor and in-between the baseboards. The adjustment tightening knobs kept it firm against both sides of the wall. I pushed on it to see if any slippage, did not move. I also used some furniture rubber floor disc's on each adjustment knob as a secondary wall protector. I am using only the pressure option and did not screw in. It is not needed as both dogs and myself found it is very secure. The gate is easy at my old age to slide the gate release button and raise up. A young child could not do it unless taught. The gate swings open inward or outward. It has a stop like a drawer not to hit the wall unless pushed to do so. All I have to do know is open and close the inner gate, no longer damaging my walls/door frame to enter or leave. So convenient! I got the silver gate. I like it so much, I ordered another one to use for my bedroom. It will keep both dogs out, allowing the room to cool per AC technician who advises not to close the door. Unfortunately, it will not keep my cat out. Lol.
