Six Years Later and Still Like New
I'm kind of surprised I didn't review these years ago. They are the best knives I have ever had and I am in my 60's. There is a nice variety and I find I don't use the other knives I bought at the same time thinking I would need them. This one set is all I really needed. No rust. No loose blades. Two things to do to properly care for them: 1) don't put them in the dishwasher 2) don't leave them sitting in water for long periods of time. I did buy a sharpener and once sharpened stay sharp for a long time. As long as they are still manufactured by the same company as 6 years ago, you can't go wrong with this set.

Fanfastic knife set
The block is impressive looking and well made, the blades are very sharp out of the box. All the knives came packaged individually with a plastic tip on the blade so you will not get cut while unpacking. It comes with a sharpener. They look and feel like they are more expensive then they are. These knives are well worth the money. These knives make me want to cook more just so I can use them. I have used them for cutting tomatoes to turnip roots and it is just like cutting butter. I would definitely would purchase this knife set for family and friends. They would make a great Christmas or birthday present. I like the fact that they came with a sharpener and a bock that can go with any kitchen design. They weight of the knives is not too heavy or too light. I feel that they are just the right weight. Just the look are performance of the blades. The only suggestion that I have, would be have explanation of how to use the sharpener. Others may know what the two slots are for. I had to google .

VERY SHARP! BE CAREFUL!!
I've been looking for a new knife set for some time now, and after reading reviews of MANY different sets, some moderately priced, others higher-end, and it was between this and some other's comparably priced and at the same quality. What made me choose this is because it fit my culinary needs as well as matched my kitchen to help complete the look. Unboxing and setup was of course very easy, I didn't look at the instructions for what knife/piece went where, as most where self-explanatory so you can put a lot of them where you want for what makes sense to you. What I like/love: The look, feel, weight, and style of the knives and tools, it feels very professional. All of the pieces fit my needs thus far and so I'm happy with them thus far in their performance and cut through anything I've put it through with ease. Also easy to clean as well thus far. What I don't like/could be better: The sheaths/slots for the knives could've been better by making them metal or with built in sharpeners like some knife sets (yes, I could've bought a set that has that, but that'd been an extra $200 or so) but sometimes when putting the knives back it sometimes sticks in the block because it's so sharp (great for the knife, not for the block) so that's a minor gripe but not a deal-breaker. I know it COMES with a knife sharpener, and I have an electronic one as well, but for the smaller steak knives it'd be nice to have metal sharpener in there since those get the most use. As far as cleaning, I DON'T put them in the dishwasher, I hand-wash them which sometimes is a pain after major cooking/eating/cleanup and all of the other dishes are in the dishwasher, and those are the only ones left, but I'm not taking any chances as you've seen other people did get rust spots and those are annoying to take off. So if this has the pieces you need, fits the look and feel of your kitchen, and you don't mind hand washing the knives (you can take a chance with the dishwasher if you want to), then this just may be the one for you.

Great purchase!
I read all the advertisements and reviews before purchasing. I liked that two chefs had originated the company. I bought the 19 piece set because it was so much or a bargain than the 15 piece. The set came rapidly. It was packed well. The treatment used on the block smelled, but dissipated after airing. No real designation of which knife was which or which went in the block where. There was a brochure one could refer to, my husband had fun re arranging the knives after I had. The use of the knives are perfect. They fit a woman's or man's hands wonderfully with great balance. I cut ripe tomatoes and they sliced so thin you could see through them. I sliced a variety of things including watermelon. While the insides sliced eaisly the rinds req;uired more force. However the one thing that impresses me with these knives are that they are balanced, light enough to be an extention of your hand are sharp and cut well. Too often knives are designed for men only. These feel good in the hand. This set replaces Henkles and it is lots better.

Highly recomended!
This is an excellent knife set. The shape is very natural, and the weight solid. As a charcuterie and BBQ hobbyist; I spend a fair amount of my spare time creating sausages, jerky and cured meats. As such; I had been searching for a good quality set of knives to assist. Even upon simply opening the package I was struck by the quality. The block is very solid and while not excessively heavy; has sufficient weight that it is impressive. On to the knives themselves: First of all they are very attractive and also solidly built. There is a full tang that extends all the way into the butt of the knives. The curvature of the butt of the knives flows easily and naturally to the handles; so that the the knives rest very comfortably and naturally within the hand; and lend to ease and comfort of use. Straight out of the package; the knives are quite sharp; and while I have already put them to considerable use butchering a side of deer; they held the blade well; and sharpened easily when needed. All in all; I consider this set to be of excellent quality and value. I could not give a higher recommendation!

VERY IMPRESSIVE!
These knives are wonderful. They not only look amazing and very expensive, and they are also razor sharp. They are three riveted, and the metal is very nice - not to mention the fact they are forged. I cannot believe how inexpensive they are. They look like I paid a fortune for them! I just love the metal on the ends of the handles - they are absolutely beautiful and look much better than Cutco knives. I can't believe some people pay almost $2,000 for Cutco, when these knives look so much better. You could buy about 25 sets of these or one set of Cutco. I mention Cutco because I almost took a part time job selling their knives because I was told they were the best knives in the land. I researched knives and bought this set as I did not want to spend a lot on a set of knives. Because of these knives, I called Cutco and told them to forget it because I could not in good conscience sell knives for $2,000 a set when these knives are much better in my opinion.

Feel wonderful to use. We now fight over who gets to cut things!
I impulse-purchased these after finding out the set I wanted couldn't be delivered to my area. I'm so glad I did, because I absolutely LOVE these knives, and they were a 1/3rd of the price! We had very old knives, and cutting things was a struggle. My boyfriend hated cutting certain things because our knives made it such a struggle. So when I asked him to slice me a tomato, he initially grumbled, because he "hates cutting tomatoes". But after the first slice with the 5" Santoku knife, he gasped so loud I thought he had cut himself. Nope! He just was amazed at how easily it cut the flesh of the tomato without squishing it. We now excitedly argue who gets to cut what and which knife to use. They are super pleasant to use and I feel like we'll get several years of quality slicing out of them. The only complaint I have is the layout of the knife block is somewhat confusing to me -- I can't really figure out the pattern they laid out the knife block in. There seems to be not much rhyme or reason (maybe they're sorted by length? not sure) but I would have preferred it laid out so that the 5" Santoku is directly below the 8" Santoku, and so on. I'm sure we'll get more used to it and start memorizing which knife is what, but we've had to consult the booklet and grab random handles for the first few days. TL;DR, if you've grown up with old, dull knife-blocks bought at the grocery store or hardware store, splurge on these. You'll be DELIGHTED by the options and quality.

Buyer Beware
Missing knife, knives that don't fit the holder, no customer service at all from the company. Very disappointed. Would not recommend!

Impressive knife set!
Wow the phots in the ad did not do justice. First, the packaging was heavy duty boxes, bubble wrap and separate box with all knives individually wrapped with each tip having a safety cover. So no scratches or marks, product was mint condition. Such a nice looking block on the counter. Great quality blades and heavy handles. Scissors are spring loaded. Very impressed, was not expecting this quality for the price. Going to buy another set as a gift for an upcoming housewarming party!

Good value
I think this is a good value for the number of knives that I got. Quality is good for the price. These are full tang knives, which I prefer, as I feel they are sturdier. They are balanced and has a certain heft to them which makes cutting easy and satisfying.
