Lindt EXCELLENCE 90% Cocoa Dark Chocolate Candy Bar, 3.5 oz., 12 Pack

I eat a low sugar diet, so dark chocolate is a standard part of my every day diet. While Lindt doesn't have the most complex flavors out there, it is decent for mass produced chocolate. I like that the 90% dark doesn't have any emulsifiers. The flavors of the chocolate don't come out very well when just munched on quickly. This is a chocolate that is better allowed to melt in the mouth and taken time with. It has a very smooth texture as it melts. The flavor is fairly one note, but it does do a good job at lingering on the taste buds. As a "daily driver", it works great for me because craft chocolate is far more expensive.

I must say that I was not a fan of dark chocolate until I started a gut health cleanse diet. I basically cut out processed food from my diet and my nutritionist recommended I try dark chocolate to satisfy the chocolate urge I was having. I started with 70% dark chocolate (also from Lindt) and I finally settled on 90%. This is probably the highest I will go as it has a strong balance of smoothness and sweetness. It is not overly sweet but just enough to make it delicious. I know have 2 pieces a day after dinner. I also got my family addicted to this so most of them also ordered this. The best part is that this chocolate is tasty and healthy! I will say someone trying this for the first time may find it bitter for their tastes. I would recommend starting with a chocolate with lower cocoa content and then moving up. As the more cocoa in a chocolate bar, the most bitter it tends to be. For me, since I cut out most other sweet things, this 90% chocolate bar is perfect for me!

Lindt chocolate never disappoints. It is delicious in all varieties. The 90% cocoa is not very sweet and takes a little getting used to, but the benefit from antioxidants and less milk content (better for the lactose-sensitive) makes it a very healthy daily treat.

Lindt has been my go-to chocolate for decades and as a diabetic the 90% still allows me to enjoy the rich cocoa flavor without a lot of sugar. I typically eat 1 square a day to satisfy my chocolate fix. It may seem pricey but at 1 square a day it's a value and lasts a quite a while. For others trying to reduce sugar intake the serving size is 3 squares with 9 grams of carbs.

Bought literally over 1000 of these by now, my favorite dark chocolate when they have the "right" price. The last few batches they sent were not good though. Hard, brittle and was turning a bit white, and the taste was way off. Was too much of a pain to return it. They need to store these in the warehouse better. Be aware they change the price on this item literally every week if not more.

It’s hardly sweet so if you like full body chocolate that’s just sweet enough not be bitter you’ll like this.

I’ve purchased this chocolate twice now, and it has quickly become one of my absolute favorites. The 90% cocoa bar strikes a perfect balance between rich bitterness and just a hint of sweetness. It melts so smoothly that each square is incredibly satisfying. It’s so smooth that I sometimes have to force myself to stop. Whether I enjoy it after dinner or with a cup of coffee, it always hits the spot. I’ve now subscribed so it continues to arrive at my door every couple of months. That way I never have to worry about running out. Highly recommended if you love rich, refined dark chocolate.
