My current favorite walking/running shoe.
Why do I like this shoe so much? This shoe has enabled me to walk further and at a faster pace without getting sore feet as had happened with a couple of other major brands. I have some hilly sidewalks in my neighborhood and I usually walk fast, about 3 miles a day. The padding is thick enough to adequately cushion while not so thick that it interferes with feeling enough of the surface you are walking on. I credit the Nimbus with helping me stick to a 3 year regimen because my feet don't hurt anymore when I exercise. I wear a 9 1/2W dress shoe but need a size 10W in this shoe. Asics makes this shoe in an extra-wide (EEEE) in some styles, however the EE wide fits my wide forefoot and moderately high instep without being too wide on my more regular sized heel. My wife takes a 7 1/2N in other brands but needs an 8N in the Nimbus. We both started with the model 16 and own several of their other models through the 22. I preferred a thinner sole shoe when I was younger and thinner but these are more compatible with our 60's lifestyle now. My wife is thin and petite and I'm slightly overweight yet the Nimbus works great for both of us. These shoes aren't cheap but they last a long time and feel so good on my feet. I hope that they maintain high quality material standards and consistent sizing so that my wife and I can continue to enjoy them and have confidence in the Gel-Nimbus when it's time to replace. Asics, please don't mess with the toe-box. We both agree, the 16s and 22s were the best of the models we have owned. Just our personal opinion. Others were really good, but those were remarkable. Kudos! Continual process and product improvement enables loyal customers so please don't ever take the cheap route as some companies have. If you like Brooks or Solomon shoes but put on a few pounds, give your feet a break and try these out to get back in the game.

had to buy a 2nd pair
a disclaimer here as i am on my feet for long periods of the day and do not use this for running. this is my 2nd pair as i do not want to wear out the other pair too fast especially since it is mostly white colored. i have a pair of gel 360's but it just does not fit as comfortably as these 22's. just the overall comfort and snug on the feet makes my feet very happy. when my feet feels good it makes for good health. when there is some mental focus on my feet throughout the day then i know for sure the shoes are not going to cut it. i would like to take the gel 360's out of rotation but they are still in such good shape that it would be a waste to just donate them so i'll just wear them once a week while the two nimbus 22's will do most of the work throughout the week. of course your mileage may vary.these are still very comfortable, but the mesh material can be fragile if you use the shoes for any kind of work around hard materials. i wear them daily for work near metal cages and it will tear the mesh if i brush up against rough materials. i understand the risk but the comfort is my priority. these are an expensive investment so if you want them to last then do not use them in areas where steel toe shoes would otherwise be used. i understand they want to make that part very breathable, light, and cause less sweat, but maybe they can mix in some tougher material in with the mesh in future shoes.

These shoes have a cult following for a reason!
I've put a few hundred miles on these Nimbus 22's, and they're just as good if not better than the previous versions of the Nimbus that I've owned (last version was the 14). I read a LOT of reviews before buying this version, and honestly it seems like dedicated Nimbus runners are 50/50 split on this version of the shoe. Some people LOVE them because they're similar or better to past versions of the Nimbus, others swear that the Nimbus shoe has gone downhill since version 17/18. Personally I've owned 3 pairs of Nimbus since my first pair of 11's, and they've never failed me. ALWAYS worth the $150 spent, and I'm usually able to put a few thousand miles of road running on these before they need replacing. I compared side-by-side with the increasingly popular Adidas UltraBoosts and this shoe wins for true running hands-down. I even converted a friend from Ultraboosts to Nimbus after he tried mine on and ran a lap around the block. Ultraboosts are very comfortable and have a lot of "cushion" underfoot, but simply lack the support and structure that really makes the Nimbus shine as a running shoe. I've tried every Nike, Adidas, Brooks, Saucony, and Asics shoe over the last few decades and the Nimbus continues to rule them all. I'm now a part of the cult following! Keep in mind that since Asics is a true running shoe brand (and not a fashion brand) their shoes are created to custom-fit your foot based on your level of pronation. I attached the Asics chart to help illustrate which shoes are designed to fit each level of pronation. Have a look and take advantage of Amazon Free Returns to try a pair on!

Reports are true, the Nimbus is good again.
I go way back with the Asics Nimbus model. Unfortunately, they lost their way with fit and cushioning at some point a few versions back (I’m looking at you version19), so I moved to other brands (New Balance, Hoka One One and Brooks). Reviews here and elsewhere said this updated model was improved (as in back to normal) with a wider toe box, wider fit over all and improved cushioning. I’m happy to say, these deliver as promised. The gel insert has always been my favorite feature in ASICS and no amount of foam can replicate the energy it provides. I’m running 50 road miles a week on average and try to rotate shoes with some max cushioning models I have, but keep going back to these as my everyday now. I use these strictly for running and keep track of my mileage. I normally get 300-500 miles out of a pair of running shoes before they lose their usable cushioning, then I retire them. I let my body tell me when it’s time. First hint of an ache or pain in my knees, hips or back and I take note that it’s time to break in a new pair. I have put 400 miles on this pair and am at 350 on my second pair.Anyways I just bought another pair because they were $30 off and this model in particular is working for me and feels natural. My only minor complaint, as it is with most running shoes, is I take a wide 2E and the colors are always limited in the wide sizes.

Can't fault
Cheapest I could find, I've always run in ASICS and these don't disappoint. Do your research on what shoe suits your gait etc. Main point of this review is as follows. I ordered from the UK, considering these where delivered from a US distributor, then I can't fault. They arrived before the estimated delivery date and would recommend both the shoe and the seller .
