Interesting but biased ....
Good little read worth your time. Just know that the authors bias against Southern culture and his ideas of how Southern women behave are based in that. Much more Melanie Wilkes than Scarlett O'Hara when the reality was probably somewhere in between! Most SBC women I know are not meek, quiet, subservient women - although they may subscribe to the same idea as mom in "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" of "the man may be the head but the woman is the neck and she can turn the head any way she wants". Southern women may have a certain code of what it means to be a lady, act like one in public but that doesn't equate to mouseyness in any way. Apparently he also needs to watch Steel Magnolias. The reality of Baptist life is much more nuanced than this author seems to realize - women in my family and those I know in the South certainly are - BUT as I said it is still worth you're time if you are able to get past his bias.

good book
I really liked this book. However, it does take a very feminist slant if the WMU. As my mother was a part if that organization, I kind of wonder if the women who were involved in it would view it as the author does. I did like the book and writing!
