Digidesign Mbox 2 Mini Portable USB-Powered Pro Tools LE Audio Workstation

I consider myself an amateur at audio recording but not new to it. The M-box 2 mini is awesome. First off, the build quality of the unit is exceptional. Knobs are smooth. Jacks are solid. I won't go into specs or features, as you can read about them everywhere.Sound quality is excellent connecting mid-range AKG and Sennheiser studio mics. Haven't connected any instruments to it, as I use it primarily for vocals.Now what can i say about Pro tools that haven't already been said? The cost is well worth the program itself, and the extra included plugins. This is my first experience with PT and now it is my audio studio of choice. Before I was using software by Adobe and Cakewalk Sonar so it didn't take me too long to learn PT.Warning: If you are new to audio recording software this is a pretty steep learning curve for starters. Good thing is they include a really helpful DVD tutorial covering most of the basic functions of PT LE to help bring you up to speed. I also recommend going to other websites and downloading the trial versions to familiarize yourself and to get an idea of what you are getting into.Note about my installation experience: Pro tools did not work on my laptop running XP Media Edition SP3. After some research on Digidesign's support sites, it seems the problem is with MS Explorer 8 update. After following instructions to uninstall Explorer 8 and rollback to Explorer 7 everything worked just fine. (Nothing great or needed about IE 8 anyway)No probs so far on my desktop PC running Vista home premium SP2 even with Explorer 8 update installed.Truly a pro product, great support, great resources online. I see why it is an industry standard.

Its official. Western Fullfilment Group has aced there first fulfilled order on amazon! I bought a used mbox 2 mini audio interface. Aside from the cool sticker on it, it was just like new. Awesome! It's in great shape, records clear vocals with my ancient condensor mic, and I got a great deal on it. As their first customer, they got my order a few hours late and compensated by adding a treat in the box. Some stride gum, so now my artists breath don't stink up my spit guard. LoL! Thanks guys, I wish you well with the business! What else ya got!?

This MBox2 mini is exactly what I was looking for. I use with an Electro-Voice RE-320 and Stereotools with this device and it produces studio quality sound. I would recommend this box to everyone and anyone that don't have the room for giant stack units. 5 star product!

I bought this Mbox for my boyfriend for his birthday and he loved it! It's something he's been wanting for the longest and he was pleased with it! The price was decent and it shipped pretty quick! No problems so far, so overall it was a great purchase. If you're getting it as a present, make sure it's exactly what they want and it's compatiable with whatever they have!

Simply to reassure you viewers, that the quality is fine to me, I don't know what the other people are talking about. Since I don't get to spend a lot of time at home with my Mbox 2 Mini, I am going to complain that, or remind you that Pro Tools LE, though it is industry standard, is not portable for music creation. You need to connect to your Mbox product in order to use Pro Tools. It is just the design of the product

This was perfect for the price as well as for what I need it for. I use it for school and side projects. I have nothing close to a home studio, but this is all I need to operate ProTools and that's all I need right now.Great for the price.

I've owned an Mbox Mini in the past and it was a fantastic, reliable and affordable piece of hardware. After almost 10 years of hard work, it gave up the ghost. I liked it so much, I went ahead and ordered another through Amazon. Unfortunately, my Macbook died the week that the "new" Mbox was being delivered. I tried to return the Mbox, as I could no longer use the product, and was told that they would not accept returns since the included ProTools serial code may have been compromised. Understandable. However, almost a year later, I now have a computer capable of running the software, only to find out that the Mbox itself is not functional. I'm really disappointed. I love the hardware, but will never buy one again online, especially from this vender. Seriously, disappointed. If you're going to buy one, do it in person and test it beforehand. Happy recording!

I couldn't ask for better audio fidelity from this device, but after I installed the drivers--which took several hours of Internet research, to make sure I had the right ones, as the documentation is bad when it exists--my computer began to show a Blue Screen of Death about once per day. Sometimes, rather than show the BSOD, it will just hang indefinitely. Either way, it's pretty inconvenient, and if you're doing anything live, it'll probably be a deal-breaker.
