How to Study the Bible Intentionally [Updated Edition]: Methods and Conditions for Effective Bible Study Kindle Edition

There are many books out there which have similar titles. However, given this is one of the older ones, we can be thankful Torrey wrote it as his suggestions for studying the bible have been borrowed by many authors.

The evangelist Reuben A. Torrey’s “How to Study the Bible Intentionally” is a 128 page introduction to studying the Bible, especially the New Testament. He stresses that a good Christian must fill his/her life with holiness “without which no one shall see the Lord.”He suggests starting the study of the Bible by selecting a short book. Second, master its general content. Third, prepare an introduction to the book, and he gives a dozen suggestions about the contents of the introduction. Fourth, divide the book into sections, and he gives examples.He also tells how to understand the book by a topical study, by a biographical study, by a study of types, by studying the biblical books in chronological order, and much more.One will gain much by using his methods.

It was full of redundancy and as I had already taken many Theology courses, did not find this book appealing. It might work for a beginner.

This is a beginner's book for how to study your bible. It was easy to read and I kept a few pages marked because I had forgot some of good tips I needed to be doing.

This was a purchase on Kindle which was a great price, and it is an awesome aid to anyone looking to do a "self study" on the Bible, which in my opinion is a great thing for all Christians to consider, Would definitely recommend.

Very helpful, even a bit overwhelming at times, but the detail assists with understanding the processes. It's especially helpful that there is more than one way suggested and outlined, along with additional resources to explore.

The various study methods are carefully explained using detailed how-to with examples. I found it quite helpful and on point.
