This is my third HP Chromebook, and all have served me well. I use it as an ultra-portable web browser with a keyboard -- a much bigger screen than my phone, with a tactile, physical keyboard that I strongly prefer over a tablet's touch interface. My only complaint with low-end Chromebooks is they tend to chug / slow down for many websites and when loading memory-intensive applications like Google Docs / Sheets. If you can live with that shortcoming, it's a great value as a second laptop or something for your kids.

If you're thinking of buying this Chrombook, please make sure you understand what this little this is not. This is essentially a cross between an android phone (apps from the play store after the update) and a web browser. You are going to be quite dissapointed if you have the following expectations: If you wnat to use it like your Windows or Mac for playing heavy games or runnig heavy programs If you are looking for this little thing to do anything other than writing, spreadsheets, browsing the web or listening to music If you are going to be downloading and storing Terabytes of data Now why I think its the bees knees: The trackpad is yuuuuuuuge! I bought it to surf, listen to google play, and write. It does all three rather well. I hit the power button and in about a second or two, its up. The battery life so far with constant and consistent daily use has been around 9-10 hours. If you want more, keep the screen brightness low, and have Bluetooth and WiFi off when not in use. I use my phone to tether when I am not home or don't have access to SECURE WiFi.. I also use the free version of Google Drive to store all I write. No issues whatsoever. If I want local data storage, I can add a 128GB MicroSD card. Have not needed one yet. Peeves: I regret not buying a sleeve, I will buy a sleeve or a smaller bag with a strap or handle to put this in. Keyboard not lighted and that is annoying when I type at night in my bed when the wife is sleeping next to me.

I realize Chromebooks are limited in what we can do with them. I only use it for online work, "Transcription", so those cookies that get past just clearing history can't really get too far. For the simple stuff, these rock. By taking a chance on "refurbished", I could afford to do this. I want to send a thank you out to this seller for selling me something that's able to work for me. I just installed android apps to make it what I needed. Nice.

I took a chance on buying something that was labled new in open box. With mandatory remote schooling where we live, I wanted my own chrome books rather than borrow from school. I think many others must have also had this idea. I searched Amazon as well as other competitors websites, and came up with very limited options that were affordable enough for a 7 and 10 y/o! These chromebooks were under $250, came packaged in the original boxes, and, in fact, had not been taken out of the boxes. They are perfect for remote learning. Camera works well, no issues connecting to wifi. They were even set up with Google classroom (icons/widgets/short cuts) whatever right on the desktop. Battery life is good, they look nice, fairly light and compact for a chromebook. They were delivered a few days early, which was also super helpful!! I don't really have anything negative to say. Serves it's purpose.
