Filling pasta, yum.
I love veggie pastas, even if I can't digest them as easily as traditional pasta. (Meaning that without probiotics, I get gassy. So I just take probiotics before and after eating veggie pastas and I am just fine.) I don't have any pasta related allergies, so I don't *need* to seek alternatives, I just enjoy having options. The box is surprisingly empty, the pasta is filled to barely reach the top of the window on the front of the box. The height of the cardboard could be cut in half...it's kind of a waste of box, but it's not a big deal in the end. I boiled salted water, and added the chickpea penne like ordinary pasta. I cooked it until it was my preferred texture, and strained away the cooking water. I dressed it with a chunky sauce and a drizzle of green chili infused oil. It was delicious! The penne was a little chewier than traditional pasta, but I like that. Also, my leftovers the next day weren't soggy, this pasta doesn't absorb liquids over night. I am very pleased with this pasta, and will happily buy it again! ๐

I'm a gluten-eater and still say this stuff is delicious!
I'm not gluten-free. In fact, I eat a TON of pasta. Real pasta. Pasta made from flour that was made from grains. And yet, something about this stuff intrigued me enough that I was willing to pay $5/box (that's $10/pound as another reviewer has pointed out, and $9 more a pound than the organic penne you can buy at Trader Joes) to give it a go. And you know what? It's freaking delicious. The texture is pretty spot-on for noodles and not grainy at all (though do yourself a favor and cook them al denteโthey turn to mush soon thereafter. Also, for the love of cooking pasta, please, please salt your water.). They don't have a strong chickpea taste, either. And, while it takes a sizable portion of white flour pasta to fill me up, I think the high protein content of these guys made me feel full faster. Will I purchase again? Probably not as often as I stock up on the aforementioned TJ's stuff, but the next time I decide to drop $30 on a case of noodles, this will be the case I buy.

I absolutely adore this pasta!!
This is currently my favorite pasta. Without question! It is reasonably priced, it is perfect for anyone that has significant food allergies, and it tastes great! I cannot tell that it's made from chickpeas. To me, it tastes like regular pasta made from wheat. But please understand that I have not ingested wheat products for close to two years.. and your taste buds change. The lentil pasta cannot compare to this chickpea pasta. It comes in many different shapes and sizes and it's very easy to make. I typically cook it on the stove with boiling water, olive oil, and salt for 8 minutes. I generally use it with a organic tomato sauce or a homemade cheese sauce with Parmesan cheese. If you have a dairy allergy, it works very well with coconut milk. It was delivered quickly, the dates were current, and the condition was positive. I will definitely be re-ordering! This is a staple in my home.

Will be buying more
As good a non-wheat pasta product as Iโve found. High in protein for a plant food, and the texture, while different from wheat-based noodles, is acceptable. I donโt generally like pasta much, let alone gluten free. These are more substantial and less guilt inducing (more protein; fewer carbs) than regular pasta. I actually like them better than regular and hubby is even willing to eat them (which is kind of unusual for him), but if chickpeas give you gas, these noodles will too, so be careful.

Decent Pasta
Disclaimer: my family is not gluten-free, so this review is based on a comparison to traditional pasta. The flavor of this pasta is on par with traditional pasta. The only issue that we had was that the cooked pasta has a tendency to fall apart much easier than we're used to. For example, if I tried to stab a piece with my fork, it would oftentimes break into several pieces, which was a bit different than I expected. Because of this, I would have rated a normal style of pasta 3 stars. However, since this is gluten free pasta and contains higher protein, I added back a star to the review. My wife and I will not be purchasing this product again in the future, although we don't feel strongly enough about it to actively dissuade others.

AMAZING!!
For the last 3 months we have been eating pretty much refined sugar and refined grain free. My husband is in the process of losing weight to keep Type 2 diabetes away and doc says he is pretty close to normal through diet alone! Me, grains make my body ache and cause great fatigue. We eliminated pasta out of our diet, even rice pasta...until BANZA. I missed my grandma's mac & cheese recipe. This was THE cure. Amazing! Everyone loves it! It is a lifesaver. I wish there was a store closer that sold it, until then, I will get it here and save it for special recipes. Thank you to a great company for creating a great product. I will be telling EVERYONE!

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Banza products- Type 2 diabetic
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Banza products- Type 2 diabetic- Pasta is horrible for me- BUT Banza is a complex carb based pasta- (Chick Peas) which are much easier on my blood sugar- far less spikes and far more predictable readings for me at least. Another plus is I also use them in cold pasta salads- which works great. Taste is NOT exactly as regular pasta- but I have gotten used to it. Much healthier alternative for pasta night in my household- Kid will also eat it no problems. *******I Also suggest Mids brand sauces- More expensive, but very much worth it IMO

The Only Pasta Alternative Worth Buying
Look this is never going to taste like REAL Italian pasta - NEVER! But if you can't eat gluten or are trying to cut carbs like I am, It's really your only decent alternative. It's texture and quite frankly taste is like cardboard. It's ridiculously priced, but again, it the best alternative out there. I made a shrimp - pasta primvera with Banza Penne noodles tonight and it was actually quite good. But then again, I am that talented. People come from miles around just to watch me cook. As long as you use this pasta as an accoutrement in the course and not the star, you can get away with using it a lot. But it would never work with an italian classic like Aglio Olio where the pasta is the main focus and the garlic, cheese and olive oil are there to accent the pasta. Banza should never be highlighted, because it's taste and texture can't stand alone as a pasta. So I can't rate it as high as I would good pasta, but as a low carb, non-gluten, high protein, pasta substitute, it is unmatched. Infinitely better than those rice noodle things they are selling. Oh by the way, I am ordering more now.
