I have always loved John Frieda color/blonde shampoos & conditioners! Not only do they always smell divine, but the formulas just work for my hair and scalp chemistry. They always leave my hair silky soft, light & clean, enhanced shine, and never leaves any product buildup. Rather than reordering the Brilliant Brunette combo, I decided to try this Midnight Brunette combo. THIS MIGHT JUST BE MY FAVORITE SHAMPOO/CONDITIONER EVER!!! As usual, it smells DIVINE!!! It does EXACTLY what it says (also like usual for Frieda products). It boosts every strand to the richest and shiniest brunette imaginable. If Frieda products work well for you, THIS IS A MUST!!! I will continue to use the Brilliant Brunette combo for 2-3 washes, then use the Midnight Brunette on the next for a luscious boost.

John Frieda Midnight Brunette Shampoo, Color Deepening Shampoo- Works well. The longer you leave it on, the darker it gets. I just wanted a slight difference in color so left it on abt 30 seconds. Turned out great.

I have used this product for almost 2 weeks now in combination with the conditioner. I didn’t want it to darken my hair, but rather to keep it brown. I went from platinum back to a dark blonde/light brown color. Every time in the past I have tried to go back to my darker, natural color it washes out without 2 weeks and I’m left with a dingy, brassy blonde. Even with using a protein filler, professional dye, and cuticle/color sealant after treatment the brown won’t stay in my hair. I’m very pleased that this product has kept my hair a nice dark blonde hue with just the right amount of golden tones to still be considered neutral. The smell is nice as well, slightly like cocoa or caramel that I just can’t put my finger on. My hair has decent moisture and softness after without feeling weighed down. If the color does fade more I’m going to try to color deepening treatment as well. I used to use Ion color depositing hair mask in natural light brown until it was discontinued so I’m hoping this collection will replace it. So far just this shampoo and conditioner combo is even better than the Ion! I would recommend it to others.

I have very fine hair, and use the shampoo and conditioner every time I wash my hair, which is pretty much daily. I am also extremely sensitive to smells, and have extremely sensitive skin. I don't even notice the smell, and it's non-irritating. After about a week of continued use, I was able to tell it was gradually hiding my grays. After two weeks, great! I went with a darker color than my blondish-brown hair normally is, hoping that would help cover the grays better. That has actually taken my hair back to my blondish-brown hair color--so pleased! Maybe people who say it doesn't work for them should try a darker color? Gray is hard to cover. It also leaves my hair shiny, and brings out nice undertones. I am on my third bottle, and it lasts a long time. As for people commenting they used an entire bottle all at once, then walked around with it on their head for half an hour, where did they get the wild idea this was a permanent/instant hair dye in the first place? It is a temporary color depositing shampoo and conditioner. Watch the video for the product. If you're wanting permanent hair dye, then purchase permanent hair dye. I'm not ready to commit to that extra maintenance step yet, and really love this product!

Absolutely love this shampoo. I have a ton of hair, and this makes it looks really amazing. It brings out all the different shades and makes it looks super healthy. It doesn't cover grays, exactly, but it does make them less noticeable in my dark brown hair. I use this every time I wash my hair.

I had hoped that this shampoo would help my grays blend in a little better so I wouldn't have to color my hair as often, however after six weeks of daily use along with the Brilliant Brunette conditioner I see no change whatsoever in my hair color and my roots show up just as much as they did before I started using it. I like the shampoo well enough as just a standard shampoo, but it's definitely overpriced if it has no effect on hair color. I'm going to go back to my regular shampoo.

I have fine, wavy hair that has started to gray. I have to be careful what shampoos and conditioners I use because they can flatten my hair. I have been dying it since I was in my 40’s, and now, at age 60, I have seemed to develop an allergy to an ingredient in brown hair dyes (likely paraphenylenediamine (PPD), but not tested). I tried the all gray look during the pandemic, but it just made me look old and I don’t have that pretty gray hair color. This shampoo tones down my gray, while leaving my hair with its natural wave. Speaking of natural, it does not look dyed, and somehow, creates a tone of gray that is prettier than my own, but less of it. I would say it takes me back to the amount of gray I had 10 years ago, only better. Also, it does not flatten my hair and I can leave it dry naturally with the waves intact. Smell is fine. Not my favorite, but not obnoxious. Bonus: no itchy scalp from an allergen.

I purchased this in an attempt to cover some gray hairs and figure out what to do with my light brown/dark blonde hair as it ages. I shampooed once and left it in for 5 minutes, saw no difference. If it wasn’t for the scent I’d have shampooed again. I’m sensitive so someone else may not find it so offensive. I find the Blue Crush shampoo tones my hair darker than this did. So I’m going to experiment and try this shampoo on my part for 10 minutes, then use Blue Crush on the rest of my hair. Maybe the scent won’t stand out so much. If it was more expensive, I’d send it back.

Si Desde la primera aplicación deposita reflejos cobrizos, es de esperar que con el uso continuo quede genial el cabello. Rico aroma durable, deja manejable, con cuerpo y brillosa la cabellera, lamentablemente suspendí su uso, tengo cuero cabelludo muy sensible (tricodinia) que me actuó como un tinte (no es tinte) ya no uso tinte por la misma razón y es por eso recurro a este tipo de productos, pero por esa situación personal, no puedo calificar como malo el producto solo porque no sea apto para MI. califico como excelente

Sensación de pelo un poco rara, pero aplicando el acondicionador se vuelve delicioso!
