Outstanding Portable Unit
The Azend Envizen 9" Portable TV/CD,DVD and Picture player is outstanding. Not only is this a 9" TV screen rather than other 7" models, it has an excellent antennae set up for a consistent and beautiful color picture! Both DVD's and CD's play very very well. I like the swivel feature of the screen even though this added some additional cost to the unit - I like the option of adjusting the screen w/out necessarily moving the unit itself. The remote control is well-designed and allows scrolling channels on the screen rather than advancing one at a time or jumping from one to another. Volume can be controlled by both the TV remote as well as a dial on the unit itself. You may not be able to turn the unit off with the remote but this is hardly a bother as the unit is typically so close to you that turning the unit off at the unit is simple enough. And then, the unit is adaptable for traveling in the car with straps for attaching to the seat headrest. The travel bag itself not only comes with the unit rather than having to buy it separately - it is a very well constructed canvas bag with zipper compartments for very secure storage. A previous unit I had did not retain the TV signal very well and made an obnoxious noise when it lost the signal. This unit is much superior to that providing an excellent signal with the provided antennae which has a lengthy wire that provides good distance to position for the best signal. A nice feature is the antennae is magnetic so it can me mounted for stability. I am using a metal glass coaster so where ever I put the antennae it will stand quite securely. The picture viewer is a neat feature in which you can use your photo SD card to view pictures on the screen. The download of the pictures takes some time rather than an instant advancing of pictures like on your camera. Nonetheless, it is a nifty extra bonus feature should you happen to want to share pictures when you are without a computer. The price of this unit was a little more than a previous 9" unit that I returned but the quality and features make this unit an outstanding value. I love being able to use it in the kitchen, the bedroom and sitting area to follow my daily activity - and also when the kids are watching other shows on the family TV! Overall the Envizen is thoughtfully constructed and provides excellent performance making it an Outstanding Portable Unit!

Decent DVD/TV with many features
Like many others I was looking for an all-in-one device to use during power outages. I found myself "on-the-fence" after reading the reviews here but decided to make the purchase anyway. My review is only based on having this DVD/TV combo for one day but I believe I tested everything except using it in the car. Two small issues were a dead battery in the remote and the antenna adapter was missing. I happened to have the battery and purchased the antenna adapter at a local Radio Shack for $6.00. As others have indicated, the sound is tinny and louder when watching TV compared to a DVD. I didn't find the DVD volume too bad, though. The maximum volume is 20 and I had it at 15 at the highest but I was home with no noise. I solved the volume issue by connecting my Jensen SMPS-650 bluetooth speakers Jensen Portable Bluetooth Wireless Rechargeable Speaker for iPod iPad iPhone and all Mobile Devices . 1. TV: I tried the included antenna as well as two others I own and received practically the same channels. unfortunately, the my favorite channel, ABC channel 7 does not come in. At least there are 10 or so other channels I can choose. The channel scan does not take long. I scanned near a window to try and get the most channels and also attached the magnet base to something metal; it does help. 2. DVD/CD: I tested a commercial video and one I copied to a DVD-RW and both worked without any problem and looked good on the screen. I did not hear any noise coming from the spinning spindle. It was quiet. 3. USB/SD slot: I have a lot of data on my 32gb usb flash drive so it did take awhile for the data to appear but everything appeared and was able to watch downloaded TV series videos. Next, I inserted to an SD card and viewed my photos. Again, with no problem. When viewing photos, the device has built-in transitions for fading in and out of each photo. I haven't checked to see if you can change the timing between each photo. 4. A/V In: using the included A/V cable, I connected the cables to my cable set box and plugged the other end into the audio out and switched to device to the A/V function and was able to watched all cable channels. On a whim I used a set of iPhone A/V cables and connected them to the included A/V cable; again audio out. I went to the iPhone video app and could view the videos on the DVD player. 5. A/V out: to watch a DVD on a larger TV, use the included A/V cables, and connect one end to the A/V out and the other end to the A/V connection on the TV. the DVD player worked well, however, as another reviewer mentioned, the sound was also coming from the DVD speakers as well as the TV. To solve this issue, I turned the manual volume contro located on the front right side of the device and now only the TV speakers are on. There is a button on the front of the DVD below the screen to turn off the LCD screen. You have to press and hold it down until the DVD screen goes blank. This does not the larger TV screen. All in all, despite the DVD volume, and missing antenna adapter, I found the Envizen DVD/TV better than expected. For my purposes of using this device when there are power outage, I feel this will work out fine. I will continue to test and use to make sure no other issue come up. I added some photos of the packaging, the DVD/TV itself and screen displays of videos and TV.

100% Satisfied
This is a great product at an acceptable price! Mostly I was searching for a portable tv which can pick up it's own signal. I purchased my 32 inch tv before the digital transition and now need a digital converter box to get a signal! Instead of waisting money on the converter box I searched through many available portable tv's and this one is 9 inches widescreen plus plays DVDs! I don't get many channels but I did get a few surprise channels like music videos and such I wasn't expecting! I read other peoples reviews about this product before making this purchase and have to admit that the included carrying case is too thin and flimsy at best. At the same time as well based on other peoples reviews I have picked up on the idea it might be possable to connect the Envizen to my old tv and get a signal that way though I never even tried since the 9 inch has a way better picture and I think I need a cable which was not included. Still don't be discouraged this is easily one of the better portable tv sets available plus it plays DVDs! This tv plays in multiple formats, but I don't want to be misquoted by false specifics so I will just say that the resolution is easily higher and picture is better than my standard 32 inch which is only a few years old!

Moderately Nice
Ok so finding a combo DVD/DTV isn't that easy. I purchased this product some time ago and have been waiting to sort out some of my issues with it before writing a review. Overall for the price this is a nice product. Also the vendor's service was quick and fine. The picture quality is nice. The menu system is a little bit clunky, especially if connecting a digital storage device through the usb port and trying to access it. I believe that Amazon currently has an RCA product (dvd/dtv) player for about $120 and If i were to buy today I would probably get it instead of this product. (anyways this product is probably out of stock) The major issue I've had after only a couple of months or even after one month with this product is an issue with the power connector. For some reason, there is an issue with connectivity and unless I have the cord right at the connection point putting pressure on it in a downward fashion, it will not connect and power/charge. Until I started having this problem it worked as expected simply by plugging in the power cord to the connector. Ive only made due with it, by setting the cord with pressure using the included bag or in other ways. A secondary issue, is that there is no really good indicator of battery charging or remaining battery life. Also, a full-charge seems to take real-time, that is for a two hour charge it seems like it takes a full two hours to charge it to a full charge and usually the charge will not last a full two-hours as advertised, especially when playing dvds. I am thinking of getting a third-party external portable battery and have located one Ive got my eye on for around $45-50 that will provide a 6-hour additional charge, if it performs as advertised. Finally, the speakers on this machine are worthless, tiny and tinny. But I always use my headphones anyway. And regarding that, the sound level will go up high enough when watching DTV but for some insane reason it is stopped at level "20" when watching DVDs and sometimes that seems inadequate. In other words, one cant watch DVD movies as loud as one can watch DTV. (And no, its not just that television often sounds louder due to the average decibel level being higher). Overall, for the price, this product is ok. But with that RCA product right in the same price ball park, you definitely want to give it consideration.

Don't waste your money.
When I first got this tv, it would sometimes lose the picture and all these different color lines would appear. I would have to turn the tv off and then back on in order to finish watching it. Then sometimes when I wanted to watched a DVD and after closing the lid, It wouldn't play and I would have to push on the lid in order for the DVD to start playing. So I thought this occurred because it was a digital tv and maybe the little antenna cause it to lose the program. I then thought it was the DVD that prevented it from starting once the lid was closed. So thiis continue off and on for the first two months. I was hospitalized in May then sent to a nursing home. I had to provided my own tv, so I had this one brought from home. The problem increased. The picture would blink out more and more while I was watching it, then it got so bad that it would blink out 3 or 4 times and more while I watched one program. Then it started taking longer for the tv to come back on and I would just leave it off for a short period and it got worse and I would leave it off for hours and the tv still wouldn't play. The llid go so bad that it stop closing all together. I had to put a heavy book or a flat bottle on it in order for the DVD to play. Then the tv stopped playing all together. So I asked my daughter to send it back ( I was still in the nursing home) in August or September. When she contact them, they refused to exchanged it or refund my money saying it was to late. I ended up in the nursing home for over 6 months and I just got home two weeks ago. I'm finally getting the opportunity to write this review. They knew the tv wasn't any good from the start if not why would they put out a model 2. I wasted my money on this tv and I got taken for a $123.00. Well, one thing I learned, is to send merchandise back if it's not functioning correctly and don't assume that the problem will stop and better yet, go to a store and buy your electronics.

Portable Home Theater
This product has good quality built into unit. I had not heard of this brand before but was pleasantly surprised. The locking in of TV channels was very easy. The picture quality is very good. The sound is adaquate. The dvd player works great, picture very clear. I love the memory function of the dvd player. The remote control works very well. The price point is excellent. I connected a powered speaker source that I plugged into the AV out on the TV and it made the TV sound like a home theater. The TV has excellent connectivity features. The TV is small and compact with bright clear picture. I highly recommend this product and it comes with a lot of accessories, of which the carring case is not so great.

good for a while
I purchased the player/tv for christmas. It was a really cool gift. The problem started few weeks later when the DVD player started to freeze up during the middle of a movie, now I have to see how to get it repaired which it looks like it is going to be a long process of getting different numbers and I don't know what will involve. The quality of the workmanship is not there the DVD cover does not close correctly and some of the speaker cover keeps coming unglued. On the upside the screen size is very good for a portable TV, the TV works great when the signal strength is good. The battery does not seem to hold much charge it starts to blink battery on the screen. UP DATE I sent the player back and got a new one. This one is working fine no more freeze. Good unit.

Greate value for Full of features. Quality OK.
I found this great value in Amazon. It has all the features I wanted for half the price of other name-brand players. The quality and size of the picture is great, and I was able to download YouTube videos using a plug-in, convert them to MPEG-4, a view them with a memory stick. I love the ability to turn the screen around, even 180 degrees, and then folding back. Funnily, some people thought that my daughter had her own iPad. I found the quality a bit lacking, though. A couple rubber screw-covers came off shortly after buying, and the car electric converter doesn't seem to work anymore. However, we have found that we rarely need it, thanks to the 2.5 hours battery. In general, it doesn't give the feeling of a solid product. The player stops playing DVD's if you push on the DVD door (you can avoid that by using the "iPad" folding I mentioned before), but it is resilient to movement. Be careful if you use SD memory of USB's, because they come off very easily, and kids can take them off by accident just by manipulating the viewer. However, it has survived my toddler, and besides the minor issues, she has enjoyed it a lot. I love the TV feature, which allows its own antenna, or connecting to an external antenna. I didn't know digital air TV looked so good. All in all, it's worth it, with the caveats I mentioned before.
