A Most Enchanting Discovery: A Review of “How to Find Flower Fairies”My dear friends, gather ’round for a tale of literary delight! One finds oneself quite overcome with whimsy after acquiring “How to Find Flower Fairies” by the esteemed Cicely Mary Barker — a hardcover tome so bewitchingly beautiful, it might as well have been plucked straight from a woodland glade by a squirrel in a waistcoat. Now then, I read this sparkling treasure aloud to my trio of four-year-old charges (known locally as The Tiny Tornadoes), and let me tell you — not a creature stirred, not even the dog, as they sat rapt in fairy-fuelled fascination. Eyes wide, mouths agape, and positively thrumming with the anticipation of spotting a gossamer-winged being in our very own back garden (or possibly the potted fern in the loo). The illustrations? Positively exquisite. The hidden flaps and peek-a-boo elements? Oh, the gasps of joy! One child nearly combusted with excitement when she spotted a fairy curled in a foxglove — and the smallest one is now insisting on constructing a fairy village from acorns and glitter. Our afternoon constitutional has transformed into a daily fairy reconnaissance mission, armed with magnifying glasses, daisy crowns, and a great deal of earnest whispering to the undergrowth.Truly, this book has rekindled the art of wonder. I myself have started addressing mushrooms with more respect.Five stars, a thousand twinkles, and a flutter of fairy wings to Miss Barker and her botanical brilliance. Highly recommended for the young, the young-at-heart, and anyone who has ever believed a toadstool might be hiding a secret.

My Daughter's Favorite - It will bring joy to your child
This is the second copy of this book that we've gone through in my family. My mother-in-law bought this as a gift for my baby and from about 18 months onward, my little girl loved this book so much. I had to read it to her every night and of course after six months of her tugging at all the pop up pages, there's wear and tear so I ordered her another one. It's quite literally the most stunning pop up book I have every seen and there are fairies hidden throughout the book - and my little girl hunts for them. It's wonderful interaction for babies and parents. My daughter enjoyed this book from 18months to 3.5 years -- literally her favorite book that I had to bring out every night.TEACHES TO SEARCH:This book has tons of pop up pages (mostely green) - with fairies hidden in different forest settings (tree tops, meadows, flower beds, wayside, forest floor etc). The goal is to help your child look careful for fairies that might be hidden among the leaves. It teaches them to look carefully so that when you say, "can you get X from the refrigerator" from your toddler, they don't say, "I can't find it." even if it's laying right in front of them. This is a great tool for that.TEACHES CAUTIONARY TALE:My daughter loves mushrooms and this book has its fair share of pictures of toadstools so we spent quite a bit of time instructing how toadstools come from the ground and mushrooms come from the refrigerator and how toadstools are yucky. We have so much fun with this book. She'll find a picture of a toadstool and will say, "that's a toadstool, yuck, yuck. weeeeee doooooooon't touch those!" In that shrill little girl voice - it's wonderful. For the longest times when we walked around the neighborbhood, my little girl kept looking for fairies in every bush or little hole in the ground. It's great. So much joy from a child. Get this book - it's quite literally amazing - you won't regret it.

Beautiful Book!
For a used book, I was expecting there to be missing parts or torn pages since it is a pop up book. I found nothing wrong and could pass as a new book. I received the book very quickly and was surprised to see it so soon. Thanks for the details in your description. It will make a great gift for my mom who is 88 years old. We have fond memories of a poster that I had as a child.
