Do not purchase - they do not work
I had been a long time user of the prior packaging for this item. They worked great. Unfortunately, they changed three things which now render the product useless. The ones I used in the past came in a cardboard package, the packets were individually wrapped, and the pellets were in a nylon type of netting. The new version comes in a resealable plastic bag, they are no longer individually wrapped (which kept the smell strong until use), and the netting is more of a paper type.I wrote to the company to find out why they made these changes as it now renders their product ineffective as the smell which is the deterrent factor to mice not only is less strong to start off with, it does not last more than a couple of days. I was told:"In compliance with our ESG initiative, we have taken into consideration various packaging techniques, such as using less cardboard and plastic".When I saw "ESG", I knew they went the way of so many other companies who put that initiative ahead of the quality of the product they produce. Also, I don't see how they are using less plastic as the size of the plastic bag they now use far outweighs the amount of plastic the individual bags wrappings used.Such a shame to see ESG ruin another product that was very good in its' prior form. Needless to say, I no longer buy them as they don't work and recommend consumers looking at this product do not purchase as you are wasting your money.

does not deter mice
I saw this repellant on a video - proving how effective it was so I was definitely interested! "My" mice (in a cabin in a very wooded area) had been using a convenient access point along the side of the house (and until a pest control person pointed it out, I had never seen it - it is now closed off). It led to an upstairs closet, so for years I would set traps and put out bait - and I was always very successful. New friends would come back a few months, or a year or so, later and I would eliminate them as well. Well, when I saw how effective this product was on the video, I put it in the closet - without any traps - just to see if they would avoid going into the closet. It had zero impact - I still saw evidence of mouse activity (they know how to leave their calling card!) - some right next to the bag! However, I am going to give this product 3-stars: it makes wherever you put it smell amazing - for much less than what you might pay for a fancy sachet. :-) Now that the mice won't be coming in anymore, I'll still keep the bags in the closet - maybe buy more. :-)

Little mint scent packets keep the rodents away.
The neighborhood had a rodent problem over the last 3 years, but for us, mostly outside. Then a few weeks ago, my husband saw a rat in the basement and set traps for it. We got it (our cat felt it was too big to tangle with so I'm glad the trap worked). Then our cat started stalking another rodent that went behind a bookcase and when I looked with a flashlight, I saw it was a small mouse (the cat felt it was more her size and sat in a vigil waiting for the mouse to emerge). My husband put a mousetrap under our microwave cabinet (the cat went to bed, LOL) and we caught the mouse. But the point is, as I didn't want the rodents to get into our food cabinets, I bought these little mint bags and placed them in each cabinet, and the rodents stayed away from the cabinets. The only food available for them was peanut butter and cheese placed on the traps. We also put the packets inside our car trunks for good measure; although we were using a strong vehicular rodent repellent under our car hoods, it didn't hurt to have the additional repellent in the trunks. Recommended.
