I had a Luvlap infant car carrier seat that my child had outgrown and needed replacement. Read around a bit and got to know that the reason why car seats from Meemee/Luvlap/R-Rabbit etc are so cheap because they are using blow molding and hence severely compromise structural integrity. Hence for my next purchase I was looking at getting better seats from Chicco/Graco/Britax. My car is old, and does not come with ISOFIX mounts. The Britax and Graco 4-Ever models are considerably more expensive. I had to go in for a belt secured seat. Chicco Gro-up 123 seemed perfect, and could be used for a long time, (1yr - 12 years). Please note that this is not a rear-facing seat and if your kid is younger, its advisable to go for a rear facing seat only. PROS : - Made in Italy (not China!!) and sold globally. - Good Build Quality due to it being injection molded and hence heavy. Comes with the best of safety certifications and visibly good structural integrity. - Adjustable and wide range of usable years. The manual says from 9 months to 12 years, but I recommend waiting atleast a year and a half before ditching your rear-facing child seat for a forward facing one. CONS : - Slightly less VFM than its Chinese counterparts, though cant put a price on a safe product for your most precious cargo. I paid ~17k, without any deal because I bought it in the peak of the COVID period. - Tall for a small hatchback, the rear headrest if adjustable needs to be pushed all the way up. - Limited recline. Though I have not yet faced any issue even with a sleepy child in it.
