Great cable for times when you need a long USB 3.0 cable.
There are times where I need to use my laptop in very cramped spaces and still have access to my external drive. In the past, I've tried lots of solutions but this cable works perfectly for me. I was able to use my MacBook Pro running on the battery and have only the 10m extension cable attached. I had great transfer speeds between the system and the external USB 3.0 RAID array.Build quality is very good overall. The cable is thicker than the old USB 2.0 standard since it has 9 conductors inside rather than the 4 wires used for the older specs. The cost is higher than other cables because of the active electronics inside the cable. It's actually $10 cheaper than an active USB 2.0 cable I bought years ago, so it seems like a pretty fair price when you take inflation into consideration. The extra speed is a bonus for certain.Be aware that this cable can only be used on USB 3.0 devices. Since the"B" end of the cable has an extra section, itwill only work in a USB 3.0 "B" socket. The "A" side that plugs into your computer will work with any USB standard, but will only give you the speed of the USB standard you're connecting to. In other words, you'll get maximum speed in a USB 3.0 or higher port on your computer.Although I don't need to use this cable on a daily basis, it has a permanent home in my laptop bag.

Great USB 3.1 Gen 1 cable, but make sure your intended destination device has a 3.0 standard receptacle
This is a USB 3.0 15 foot long cable with a standard USB 3.0 Standard-A plug at one end and a USB 3.0 Standard-B plug at the other. Note that USB 3.0 Standard-B plugs can NOT fit into a USB B receptacle that is not 3.0 capable. So you can't simply use this to connect your 3.0-capable laptop to a non-3.0-capable printer that has the standard 2.0 version of the USB B receptacle. The USB 3.0 standard has been renamed USB 3.1 Gen 1 so you may see this cable referred to, correctly, in that manner. There is also an even newer format named USB 3.1 Gen 2. This cable does not meet that standard.Note that the cable running between the two connectors is a little thicker than the typical cable that you'd have on a USB 2.0 cable. It's just as flexible but will take up a little more space if you leave it coiled up for storage.

Not cheap, but great if you need a long cable
This is a loooooooooooong 30-foot USB-3 cable. This is the type of cable that you might use in a conference room and the like. I will say at over ninety-five bucks, it’s certainly not cheap. . . . and perhaps other extenders might work and be less expensive. . . but. . . for a single cable, this one works great. I haven’t had any issues with transfer speeds, connectivity and such. Some other StarTech cables have a lifetime warranty and this one shows two-years.

Works wonderfully--like a 1m cable
I use this to connect a PC in the basement to a powered hub upstairs and the reliability (bulletproof) and speeds (identical to a setup with a 1m cable downstairs) are what I expect. The cable is on the thicker side, but nothing that unusual. Likewise the connectors are "chunky" but not too remarkably big. All in all I'm very satisfied.Granted this is a nice solution, but for those who need a computer in one place with I/O in another, this is a solid solution.

Very Fast Cable
This is a cable that is used to attach a device that has a USB-B port to one that has a USB 3.0 port. The cable is 15 feet long so it gives you plenty of length and flexibility to use it.They say there is no signal loss even though it is 15 feet and I don't notice any. I don't have a measurement device to make sure this is true, but there does not seem to be any lag at all.Overall, a great cable if you need to attach a USB-B port to something that uses USB 3.0.

The cable quality is great and the plugs interface well with the equipment
Hard to say much about a USB cable. Frankly, this is my first USB 3.0 cable. The only thing that I have that utilizes this connection is a Microsoft Kinect for Xbox One. With the PC adapter module, this cable provides more length from the PC. The cable quality is great and the plugs interface well with the equipment.
