Professionally, I am an electrical engineer, but I only purchased this item for home use. I originally purchased it for a one-time repair on the ignition plug wire of a zero-turn mower. However, I have now used it on several different high voltage situations around the farm. The most recent use was the repair and isolation of the high voltage output of an electric fence charger. This is your typical self-adhering high voltage tape which means it only sticks to itself. In use, one must make the initial wrap around the repair point, then stretch the next layers to adhere to and compress the tape. It works well and is easy to use. As a side note, it is not designed for outdoor usage, but I have used it in outdoor environments with good results so far. Falls in the "good stuff" category of my repair world.

Decent product but not very sticky. What it lacks in adhesive it definitely makes up for in flexibility. I ordered another roll.

Insulating silver conductors with this material did not prove as insulating as I had hoped. Four layers on a bare conductor used in a spark gap quickly began melting away as soon as the arc opened. 29,645VAC @ 36.7microamps average during the event, with a spike toward 36,000. I'm glad I didn't use it on anything spectacular.

I needed some thick electrical tape to insulate a project, and this stuff worked out great. It's think and durable and sticks well.

Bought this to protect the HV wires on a 150W laser cutter. The HV supply has a max output voltage of 55kV. It ripped right through this tape. The wire was double-wrapped in alternating directions. Just tried it again with 6-8 layers: it still arcs through it.
