can you put them in the freezer?

Yes. Just make sure the top is a little thawed out before you try to open it or it will crack. Otherwise, it works wonderfully. I just run a bit of hot water over it before I open it.

What is the diameter of the bottom of the cup?

The diameter of the bottom of the 16 oz cup is 3 1/2" . The 12 and 32 ounce cups are also 3 1/2" on the bottom. Hope this helps. Ed O
