DAYUAN Motorcycle Chain Breaker Set, Chain Cutter and Riveter Kit, Red Case

I have had this tool for over a year now and I have used it 3 times. Does the job well for the price. If you use it properly and take care of it, it should last. I broke one of the pieces of my own fault when not using it for its intended purpose.

This tool was terrible. I read the instructions twice and watched several YouTube videos on how to use it to make sure everything went smoothly and I was confident. Which I was. But when time came to break and rivet my chain, it was extremely difficult and it constantly felt like something was going to break. The tool had me continuously thinking, "Am I doing this right?" I managed to break the old chain with this, but it wasn't easy and it deformed the 3.8mm pin in the progress of doing so - eliminating the potential for future use of this tool. Then, when it came time to rivet the new master link chain... same situation. Extremely difficult, constantly fussing with the tool, returned to watch YouTube videos two times to verify proper use of the tool. As I cranked down to rivet the master link, it felt as though it was pushing the links plates tighter together, which is not supposed to happen at all at this step... and then the tool snapped in half. Sparks flew and the metal sheered. "Wow..." Luckily i didn't get hurt. This tool is clearly built for one time use and not meant for installation on a quality made chain. I will have to find someone with a better chain riveting tool to finish the job for me. Money and time poorly spent ordering, waiting for and using this tool.

Review: DAYUANTOOLS Chain Breaker Kit (Amazon) I picked up this chain breaker kit for basic motorcycle/dirt bike work, mainly for a 420 chain. Overall, it does work, but there are some pretty big limitations you should know about before buying. Pros: • Comes with multiple pin sizes and attachments, so it’s a complete kit out of the box • Compact case keeps everything organized • Affordable compared to higher-end chain tools • Easy to use for light-duty jobs or smaller chains Cons: • The biggest issue: the pins are not very strong • While using it on a 420 chain, some of the included pins started to bend under pressure • Doesn’t feel durable enough for repeated use or tougher chains • You have to be really careful lining everything up perfectly or you risk damaging the tool Performance: It will break a chain if you take your time and don’t force it, but it’s not something I’d trust for frequent use or stubborn/rusted links. For a 420 chain specifically, it’s right on the edge of what this tool can handle. Final Verdict: Good for occasional use or emergencies, but not ideal if you’re regularly working on chains. If you plan on doing more than a couple jobs, it’s probably worth spending more on a stronger, higher-quality chain breaker. Used to drive pins from a #60 chain. The driving screw stripped the threads on the first use. ***Updating my original review from one star to four stars, for the sellers customer service. This chain breaker remains flawed; this should be made from tool steel and is not- rather soft carbon steel. For lightweight chains (EG bicycle) this breaker would probably work fine. For larger chains like a #60 or #80 I would look at something else. The seller reached out (After the return window was exhausted) and offered a full refund.

Garbage. Material is too soft. Bent under compression and warped my new master link. And the punch pin warped against the filed old link. Just garbage. 0/5

La herramienta es perfecta. Dura como ella sola. Los pasadores no los doblas ni queriendo. Probe a subirme al fino con todo el peso de mi cuerpo y ni se dobló. La primera vez que extraí la cadena si que me puse a rebajarlo, que tardé un buen rato con una dremel. Cuando saque el remache y lo investigué... vamos me hubiese apostado todos mis ahorros a que lo de rebajar es una chorrada porque el remache no llega ni a 1mm, es IMPOSIBLE que un acero por muy reforzado que esté aguante la presión de esta herramienta. Pues tras probar con otro eslabón de una DID 520 VX3.... Ha salido como mantequilla sin rebajar ni nada. Lo importante es la técnica! Mirad videos en YouTube que lo explican perfectamente. Primero es que la tuerca interna de la herramienta hay que usarla para centrarla bien sobre el pasador y aprisionar la caden fuerte (No pasa nada porque reventamos los X-Rings que van a cambiarse, pero debe quedar bien fija y centrada). La tuerca externa es la que se gira para sacar el remache y solo hay que usarla con el palito que viene con la herramienta... Así es imposible que doblemos nada a menos que seamos Thor, claro. Si no sale con eso, es que la herramienta no está centrada y punto. Además que hay que usar el tamaño del pasador oportuno. Lo único que no me ha acabado es el pasador de remachar la cadena... He partido un remache porque tiene una forma demasiado plana y cuesta verle el punto. Pero también ha sido porque me he motivado. La herramienta de verdad que es una pasada por el precio que vale. Lo que pasa es que hay que saber usarla.

I have used this now a few times and it has worked perfectly every time. I am not sure why some people have had issues. It does exactly what it is designed for. Granted the instructions are not the best. But you can always search the web if you are not familiar with chain breaking. I likee the screw in handle to add more grip force on the main body, nice addition from most. I will continue to use this and don't foresee any issues it.
