Are these strings long scale?

Yes, DR Neons have a scale of 38" to the first taper. Depending on your instruments construction you may need extra long scale strings.

Would these work on an electric acoustic bass?

you may wanna get light pair yet not sure what kinda ring oe rone they will have im sure be ok dr strings good company they have always treated me cool wtfif they dont work on it take em off put em on electric bass just dont cut them down enjoy

What are the strings gauges? I currently want to use these on a 4-string bass .040 to 0.100

I buy the 5 string kits, the gauges are .125, .105, .85, .65, .45; the four string I think comes with .105, .85, .65, .45
