File does not file!
This file does not work at all. It not only wonโt file the frets, but it wonโt even file off the red sharpie ink I applied to the frets as a guide. It just smoothly slides across the fret (as if it was just a straight piece of metal with no teeth). Doesnโt bite into the fret at all, or even cause a slight bit of friction that youโd expect when filing something. Although the file was new in a sealed package and shiny, the file teeth are not at all sharp and feel rounded off, like a super dull saw blade. Another reviewer said it wouldnโt even file fingernails, and they are correct! It tried too and it wonโt! I donโt know if this is just an ultra poorly made product, or if this was a bad manufacturing batch, but itโs gotta go back. Unfortunately itโs completely useless. I figured Iโd get this cheap one since Iโm only doing one guitar, but it wonโt even get through a single fret.

I used to pay $38 for guitar maintenance. Now I can do it myself.
With this tool I can cut down on guitar repair and adjustment costs. The work is expensive. But the tool pays for itself many times over. If you play a guitar or a bass, eventually you are going to need one. I enjoy making the adjustments on my guitars that I used to pay a lot of money for somebody else to do. And the tolls included are very simple to use. Not complex at all.

This fret file
It's just too course for my liking and leaves too much tooling marks.

Great quality
These were a gift for a friend and he loves them. He never did this step because it was the hardest part of the job. He said he lives them, it makes it easy to do.

It looks like a fret crowning file that won't crown frets
It kind of trys to act like a crowning file that cost 10 times this price but doesn't work as good after using it on a few guitars to address some frets I was actually damaging instead of correcting but maybe it's just a bad batch I'll keep it around in my tool drawer and try to figure out what it's good for but it's definitely not made to impress sorry just being my opinion

Cheap.
Don't buy, better off splashing out and spending more money for a professional tool. All the complaints are justified. But then, what do you expect for the price of a couple coffees?
