Feelers 304 Stainless Steel M8-1.25 Fully All Threaded Rod, Long Threaded Screw, Right Hand Threads, 250mm Length【Pack of 2】

I bought this threaded rod set, for installing a new up-sized air intake horn/elbow on my 97 Ram 12- 12-valve Cummins diesel engine. This 3.5" air horn, made with mendrel bent aluminum tubing, has a 1/2" thick base that the tubing is welded to, and because of the large diameter of the tubing relative to the square footprint of the base and the way the tubing had to be canted away from this base location (for fitment around the brake system), there wasn't enough room above it for a long flange-head bolt to pass through that hole in front left corner of the new air horn base. This required a cut-to-length threaded rod be screwed into the hole first, then the air horn carefully lowered down into position, over the threaded rod and simultaneously a flange-head nut be threaded onto the threaded rod. In the attached photo, you can see the top of the bright (silver) threaded rod protruding above the new flange-head nut with a red colored washer beneath it. From this, you can see why a long bolt could never be used in this corner position, with the tube arching over this corner, hence the need for a cut-to-length threaded rod and nut, to provide the clamping force needed to ensure the pressurized air from the turbocharger doesn't leak out at this corner, and so far there is no evidence that it does. Now, having used this threaded rod and seen how smoothly it threaded into the hole below, I can attest to it being a well made item and can highly recommend it for other who may need such an item for their projects.

Good product for my purpose. I bought these to cut into smaller lengths. The Troy Bilt Honda carb on the TB240 lawnmower has two long bolts that secure the carb and its many gaskets. Once you remove the bolts, its an unholy mess: parts and gaskets loose and falling everywhere. I bought these rods and some nuts in order to replace the OEMHonda bolts: Just unscrew the nuts alone, the rods stay put. Then one can pull off each layer of the carb without juggling the mess. Once I cut them to length, these did the job perfectly. And they’re stainless. 👍🏼🙂

I used this to make a tool to install the Front Crankshaft Seal on a 1997 7.3L Powerstroke... worked as I intended it to..... There are plenty more applications it can be used for.... but using this saved me from needing to purchase the 'correct' tooling.... ...but I have 20yrs experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic to know how to make random items work in ways they weren't intended to..... Now in my toolbox inventory waiting its next potential use.

Good fit for carb mount upgrade on our Honda lawnmower. Could have saved a few dollars by ordering shorter ones, but these are easy to cut to length so not a big issue.

Wanted to extend the levers on my excavator and this did the job with a few female to female adapters
