Very nice light. Was a gift for a teen in his room, he needed help to put together, was a bit tricky because he removed sticky tape to far ahead so don't do that. Seems very likely to last a long time. And does move to sounds like described. Looks amazing in his room. Would recommend, great price for this item. Make sure to follow the instructions while putting together.

I bought a similar unit (looks identical) on ebay for half the price but it came from china so it took a long time to arrive. I figured I'd pay $5 more here and get it a a couple days. It arrived and I installed it and am bummed to find that unlike the other unit this one doesn't fade up and down when turned on or off. It also doesn't fade between dimming levels. The other unit fades from one setting to another which is a much nicer effect. With this product when I flip the switch on or turn it on using the remote it jumps to the set level rather than fading up like a nice 120v home dimmer. I will keep this for another project but since I have several of these connected to the same switch in my boat it looks weird to have some of the lights smoothly fade up while the lights on this unit flip on and off immediately. So basically you're paying more for less here. Not a bad product for the price, but buyer beware, there is a better unit out there for half the price.

This dimmer is excellent. It is quite amazing ho much functionality this small inexpensive item has. I am using mine to control auxiliary lighting on my Motorcycle. The lights are 2x 8watt. It lets me dim the lights turn them on and off. The best thing about the dimmer is that when power is taken off the dimmer by turning the bike off or by turning off the dimmer from the remote it remembers the last setting and comes back on in that setting. The remote is nice and light so I put it on the inside of my hand guards for easy access. It has many pulsing and flashing mores. The two first ones are perfect for motorcycle light modulation. The first one is a dimmer pulsing ... perfect for the low light just after sunset and before it gets dark. The second one is a brighter pulsing, but with not "flickering like behavior" this is ideal for modulating motorcycle light in bright sunlight. Great little gadget. I have only run it about a week so far, but also bench tested it with 6 motorcycle LED lights over night. No problem at all and not heat coming out of the unit.

Worked great at 1 amp, but the claimed 12A rating is a joke. I put an 11A load against this and it nearly caught fire after about 3 seconds - noxious fumes from scorching components; the whole bit. The unit no longer responds to the remote (likely the RX section was toasted), and is consequently useless to me. It does pass power currently, so long as I keep the current down to safe (~1A tested) levels, but a straight piece of wire could do that in its place. This is unfortunate, as the modes provided, and the adjustable speed function were pretty great - it sadly just wasn't fit for the claimed purpose (12 amp capacity).

I bought this light because my friend got one and I loved it. But mine doesn't work right. The music mode won't work at all. I put it together properly but it's all crooked and twisted weird and I can seem to figure out how to get it to straighten out.

I wasn't sure about this product at 1st, but after I installed it... It was AWESOME! I didn't know it had so many options on how do you want it to dim. It even can make your red or blue L.E.D. flash like a cop car. LOL! be careful, this can get you in trouble with the cops. lol! But you can make it blink in different modes and at different speeds. I am using this application on my car and plan on buying 4 or 5 more, to use it as an application for some xmas decorations using a 12v transformer and L.E.D.s. this way I will have the light show and the electricity bill will still be low because L.E.D.s use very little power, yet they are very bright. I highly recommend this product. Its easy to install. I love it.

Using three of these to control above cabinet lighting in the kitchen. It's great that you can use one controller to control all the RF dimmers and when power is cycled to the LEDs by the main power switch (not the on/off switch on the remote) the RF receivers remember the setting you selected. We just leave ours at 25% brightness for the yellow LED strips we're using. The only complaint is that of the three installed, one stopped responding to the controller after a few minutes of use and needs replacing. I noticed some other folks had similar issues so just be prepared that you might have to replace this thing once before you get a good one. For the price though, what should we expect? It might be worth ordering a spare just to have on hand.
