Three Stars
They never last to long. This replaces one that is 6 months old.

Working Great!
Used two of these, one driving a Polk Audio RC6s in-ceiling stereo speaker in a dining room, the other driving a pair of Dual LU43PW indoor/outdoor speakers on an enclosed porch. No problems installing, instructions clear as to setting. Was really impressed that they came with three different color knobs & faceplates (white, biege, ivory). Haven't really driven them past what I'm guessing is around 30W RMS and they seem to work just fine. They also appear to be quite rugged so I'm not worried about people bumping the knob. Now I just have to figure out a way to get continuous volume level from the receiver regardless of the receiver's volume level to its local speakers (it has an A/B set speaker outputs, but no independent volume control). That means if I turn down the volume in the main room via the receiver, the remote rooms go down too. Not a flaw with the product, a problem to which I have yet to find a good solution for!

does what it is supposed to
I installed a device like this (from Niles Audio) about 5 years ago, and it was starting to get "scratchy" when the volume was adjusted and to make an intermittent connections to one or the other speaker. I replaced it with this one. All is good now. Installation was easy; the knob has a nice feel with definite clicks to each variable position. The sound adjustment is smooth and nearly continuous. So far I like this one better than the Niles. Check back with me in 5 years or so and I'll tell you how it held up.

Works great
I did a setup where I needed to power two sets of speakers from one channel on my receiver. After doing a lot of research to see if this would work, I discovered that I would need to increase the impedance of the speakers on that channel to avoid potentially frying my receiver.Basically, when you do a setup like this, and wire the speakers in parallel, the impedance drops which can draw more power from your amplifier than it can handle. This volume control allows you to increase the impedance (resistance) back to where it needs to be at the cost of some loss of power.I now have a setup where I can control the volume with this knob, and it is preventing the speakers from drawing too much power.I am very happy with it, and it looks and feels like it is built solid.

I like the looks of this product and the functionality
I like the looks of this product and the functionality, But be aware that this will not fit into a single gang electrical box used for most switches and receptacles. I tried using a deep single gang box but it would not fit this ether. I have not found a wider single box yet, so if any one out there has any suggestions please post.

I can't imagine better volume controls. Work like a charm.
I purchased one to test the waters. It worked very very well. I got 4 more to finish wiring our system. As others have pointed out, these (and others) are tight in circuit boxes. You will need to fiddle with the wires. I am VERY happy with this purchase.

Rotary is ok
so I went thru 3 other volume controls before being satisfied with this one. I wanted the Bar that went up and down not rotary, but this was the Best on e out there and was easy to install and was made well unlike previous ones I purchased

Excellent.
The ability to install multiple speaker sets, ease of install and it looks great too! Hard to get everything you want in one box but this is perfect as far as I am concerned.
