I wanted a solar pump to replace my 3 barrel fountain that was electric. It worked great. Worth every penny. The cheaper pumps don't last.

As a solar water pump owner of many to which this one is Great & with stake holder could not ask for more! I was surprised that this one worked in much lower light compared to the reviews of other units. This one does not have a battery, but also only needs bright sunlight to work. In other words, it only works when the sun is hitting it. Maybe they can add a battery to hold some charge to it. It's otherwise really easily to install and very pretty. Great product!

The pump motor died after only one summer of use. I made sure to keep it clean and it was fully dried before winter storage. But now it simply doesn't work. The solar panel puts out around 9v, but the pump no longer tries to kick on.

Works well but clogs up too easily. We used it in a 3 tier bird bath\fountain. Plenty strong during longer days of summer. Winter days are shorter here & it still worked but with less strength. Really like the low water shut off. Needs better filter to keep the impeller from clogging up with algae, etc.

11/12/22 UPDATED REVIEW- I have to say that the company Aistin-US is very responsive to my issues. Just yesterday I received an updated product to try out. They have stayed in contact this whole time. I still have not had the time to try the new pump basically because it is raining but I will this week. OLD POST: I purchased this product only because it said it works with partial sun. My reason for this purchase is just that. I live where there are tall pines and I get partial sun all day long with a few hours here and there with direct sun. Well, the unit came I was happy it ran all day and stopped at 8:05 pm. Not bad I thought. Then the next day it started running for 2=3 minutes then stopped, then started again. It did this same thing all day long. So I unplug the cord to charge up the battery the next day. Then on day 4 plugged it back in and it went back to doing the start/stop all day. So I figured I got a bad one as I bought 2 and gave one as a gift. My friends were going crazy all day. The new one arrive quickly got it set up and it did the same thing the 1st one did. So I called my friend and asked her if hers was in direct sun all day and if so to place it in a location with partial sun to see if the same thing happen to her. Lo and behold if you have partial sun it will run and stop until it starts up again. Okay, I guess I am bummed about that. But it works and for the price, it is fine for now.

Zero assembly required except securing the screw attachment for the power wire. The battery was already charged partially so the moment it hit the sunlight and the pump went underwater it began pumping. It seems high quality for it's class, the lowest priced class. I did not want to spend a lot on this item. It functioned flawlessly all day so far. As sunset came, it was also overcast and raining. There was enough sunlight to keep it pumping!!! Most fountain pumps would have stopped at this point. The extra features of a battery to keep pumping for a while after dark, compared to direct current to the pump is great. The feature to prevent overheating of the pump by low water levels is also great, most in this class lack that feature. It has a long power cord so the solar panel can go in a better light area than the container pond which is partially shaded intentionally. I honestly think that his is the highest quality system in the $14 to $17 USD price class. Pick this one. (in the video attached, I did not add the fountain attachment and instead only need the water to move across the surface, you actually get better aeration and cooling that way, but you can still see the water move. the betta fish seems to like it.)

I've been using different solar pumps for a small water feature I built in my yard and this one is the best so far. I bought a $120 pump this spring thinking that I would get a stronger flow. I also thought the backup battery would perform for a longer time. Not only was I wrong about that but it stopped working altogether after a month and a half. This pump has a pretty good flow for its size, works on a cloudy day, and the backup battery lasts for 5 to 6 hours.

Really loved this little fountain at first. Despite claiming it has battery back up, I did notice it would cut off as soon as the sun dipped behind the trees, but that's fine, I have it in a location where it gets full sun almost all day and I don't really mind if it cuts off at night. However, after about 2 months of use, it just stopped working completely. Not sure if it's the solar panel or the pump that went bad, but it won't run. The pump is clean, nothing has changed about the set up, it's just dead. I don't expect these little pumps to last forever but I'd hoped to get at least a full season out of it. It would also be nice if (assuming it's the pump that's bad) they sold the pump separately from the solar panel so you could replace one and not the other, but as far as I can tell they don't. The thing is, if I could fork over $10 to replace the pump each year, I'd do it, but I can't manage $30 every two months!

Has good pressure even though very small pump. I use it in my garden fountain. With the reserve battery in the solar panel, it even pumps during cloudy periods. Apparently it senses darkness and shuts off. I don’t know for sure as I’m already in bed sleeping.
