LIBRATON 1-5/8" Ratchet PVC Pipe Cutter, PVC Cutter, Plastic Pipe Cutter

WARRANTY IS USELESS JUST FOR THE HASSLE. I purchsed this cutter 7 times already. Cutter cuts ok but they don't last nowadays. Lately 2 of them don't ratchet open after a cut. 1 in less than a month and the other in only a week of use but I started using the second after a month of purchase, so Amazon won't take it back. It seem that new cutters have an inferior spring material. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THESE CUTTERS AT ALL AS THEY CURRENTLY ARE. UPDATE: I contacted Libraton over Amason messaging and they reponded the following day. They requested a picture of the cutter wich I submitted. Picture shows ratcheting part of the handle completley loose and wide open. They think the spring is out of position and ask for my address to send me a replacement. That's good, I suppose. Whether or not cutters are still good in the future is to be determined. I have to say that I really like the cutter and in my trade -I do irrigation repairs- if they last me 6-8 months I'd be completley satisfied and would simply buy another one. Time will tell if they are now as good as they were just a few months ago.

This product will cut pvc pipe with relative ease. However, no matter how you do it, it cuts about 5-10 degrees crooked every time. This might be OK for some glue joints, but it is useless for projects where something close to a right angle is required. It's inexpensive and seems sturdy, but I would not buy it again. Sorry, I don't like giving negative reviews.

They're cheap for a reason. Doesn't cut straight, blade shifts so far over, if pipe isn't connected to anything or preinstalled and prevents the blade from cutting straight through because of the pipe saddle where the pipe sits for cut. Garbage. Ive used great pipe cutters and thought I'd give these a try..... Lesson learned!

Do not buy this! The blade is soft metal and bends when cutting 1” sch 40. I had this out of the box and the blade was damaged within 2 cuts of pvc. I’m in the irrigation industry and have never had a blade bend so easily.

Don’t waste your money. I’m a HVAC tech and installer. Bought the two inch version. After a few cuts cutting 3/4” -2” PVC the Blade would skew to the right making all the cuts look like bologna to say. It’s one major design flaw is it does not have enough metal to surround the cutting blade and it wants to travel just to the right. Trying to finish one job recently I had to place a small wedge of sheet metal and as the blade came down in the pipe, it limited its wandering path. Going to return this item and I bought a Husky and a power Milwaukee. I’m the last few weeks. I’ve made better cuts using hack-saw and tape as my cut line around the pipe. That method is tied and true but just make a mess and a lot more work.

This product has no instructions and doesn’t even close. Worst ever

It cracked my pipe along rather than cutting it so I would say my kitchen knife is sharper. Not sure what's the hype around this cutter. Initial set up is very bad, the instructions/manual is printed on a very small paper with the smallest font ever, can't read anything on it. It Very low quality tool (handle and blade),

I don’t make reviews often but I can say I’d far from recommend this because I’m HVAC technician and this thing broke on me the first week using it the blade chipped and was breaking pvc pipe

Unfortunately the blade will no longer retract . It worked good then I went to make another cut and there is no way to make the blade retract. Caused a problem on my Job I’m disappointed. Update: there is a black pin that is on the side. After using the cutters it can come loose. Just put come epoxy or whatever to make sure it stays in place. If you lose it, the cutter won’t work. I was able To find mine after it came out and once I put it back in, it works as it should. I may have been a bit upset in my earlier review , but I didn’t have another set of cutters with me and it caused a work stoppage. Really , it’s an excellent unit, just gotta make sure that pin doesn’t work itself out.

A neat piece of kit, so easy to use with the minimum of effort. Gives a nice clean cut. Highly recommended.
