Wonderful clippings
I was a little skeptical ordering clippings online. I had purchased seedlings before but not like this. Since I have taken my own cuttings before I took the chance. So glad I did. The Folks over at CZ Grain know their business. I ordered 3 plant cuttings. Dragon Willow, Golden curl willow and money tree. I placed the order all on March 21st with an estimated delivery date on April 1st. Cuttings came in early on March 25th. All cuttings came in good shape and the ends wrapped in damp paper towel. I removed from the package and placed them in canning jars with a few inches of water. I kept them inside as it still chilly here. Today, April 10th they were all ready for planting. Roots were minimum 2 inches long. They also had leaf stem growth. I’m only sorry I didn’t get pictures along the way. Highly recommend CZ Grain and their trees.

Highly recommend
The cuttings arrived on time. Still moist in the baggy and wet paper towels. Three arrive one quite large and two somewhat smaller but with nice shape. All were sprouting several roots. This is my second order. Both arrive like this. The first order is already planted and starting to leaf. Highly recommend!!

Mixed results
Mixed result. Got root growth but top of cutting turned black and died back about an inch and a half. Hopefully it survives

Started out great, but then.
I followed the directions that were given . After a couple of weeks, the small ones that had sprouts on them died. The larger one was doing well and had a couple of good shoots on it and all of a sudden they died. What is going wrong? I didn’t choose any fertilizer. I used good organic soil to plant it, but it died. The large ones shows a little green. What can I do to save it?

A great variety of beautiful starts
This was purchased as a ninth Anniversary gift, combining 2 traditional gifts (ceramics, willow). I have a tradition (borrowed from someone else) of celebrating the anniversary with a gift that reflects the traditional gift but in a modern way. My wife loves willow trees but they can wreak havoc on a property. But a self-contained willow tree? Yep... You see where I'm going with this.I received - a bundle of sticks, wrapped by a rubber band in moist paper towel, in a bag. Note that I received it a couple days before it was due, so I don't know how it would have held up if it were, umm... held up. I unwrapped them (I was surprised to have 7 stems instead of the 5 most reported), chucked them into a mason jar, set them on my kitchen window sill and... Well, here they are!All of these sprouted root buds within 48 hours of dropping them in water. I haven't pulled shoots off of them yet, but they look fantastically healthy. I received 1 large cutting and 6 smaller diameter cuttings, but all are sprouting merrily. I'm eager to plant them. These are just hanging out in water, in jars. Next, they'll go on soil in planter pots. When potting, consider which direction you want your bonsai to grow in. Bonsai Willow trees, properly cared for, last a mere 25 years compared to their 100 year old conifer cousins. But that means I'm good till my 34th anniversary, right?

Thriving!
It sprouted very easily, when done as directed. It is growing everyday, and thriving! It grew all of this in 3 weeks. Watch the video, and you'll learn everything you need to know!

They all died.
I have purchased these 3 times. I’ve put them in water and they do wonderfully. I wait until the roots are at least 3 inches and plant them. Unorganic, good soil. The first batch I thought I overwatered because I was doing a little bit every day. The second batch I got I watered every other day and just missed them. The third batch I recently received the roots were 5 inches long or so planted them in good soil. Only watered it when the soil was dry. All of them have died. I don’t know what exactly I’m doing wrong but I have had more like with seeds that I’ve purchased!!
