Really good camera
Well I like this camera ... The cord is long so no issues there. The view of the width is slightly smaller than other cams. maybe by 10 ft or so out of view.I had an issue though. after 24-48 hours, the camera stopped working. contacted tech support. They had me remove the sdcard. after one hour, I turned back on..camera started working again. I repeated this process and got same results. Tech support sent me out another replacement camera and it heated up on the front area where the micro computer board is on the inside. The first camera did not do this. Tech support said this was normal and it may stop heating up so much after use and it did. Tech support was good. Everything else worked well. Easy set up. The camera is a little larger so slightly bulky on the install.Update after months of using: After dealing with initial install....and now comparing to the other brands I have, I have to change my review and say I DO really like this camera. While it is slightly bulkier and seems cheap made, the reception of the wireless is great and the features are as well. Being able to block certain areas in view so it doesn't prematurely activate the alarm..is a wonderful feature as well. I am going with this brand over the other 5-6 different brands I have tried.Update 2: I bought my 4th one of these. I had an issue with installing the 4th one. It took me several hours to figure it out. How I fixed it... I had to turn OFF on the other cameras the motion detection button. Once they stopped detecting motion..it allowed me to set up the new camera. Once the new camera was connected and working, I turned the other camera motion detection buttons back on. all is good.

Great video quality and best customer service!
I absolutely love this camera! By far my favorite out of the 20 some odd cameras I have used. The video quality is superb. The voice heard through speaker and the quality of the incoming voice are very high quality. Very user friendly and easy to use. Very easy to access when not at home AND has the best Wi-Fi signal out of all the competitors!! I don’t even have a Wi-Fi booster/extender and this camera reached all the way down our driveway to our mailbox (internet wise) without any complaint. Had a minor issue and had a wonderful customer service rep by the name of Anna help me. It was stress free - hassle free - and it took just moments of my time to figure out my problem and offer me a replacement. That’s A+ customer service! Thank you so much again! I’ll definitely be buying more!

Good camera + Good app = Great Value
This is my fourth Netvue camera purchase. I have two other VIGIL outdoor cameras (version 1) around the house, and those have worked really well. With minimal testing, it looks like the VIGIL 2 has an improved camera with more dynamic range - with the VIGIL 2 - better visible balance with shadows and highlight's when the view is picking up a bright day with shadows.Camera setup is easy enough. Determining where to plug in for power is always the challenge as you balance optimal camera location vs. available power supplies. It's the trade off of not purchasing battery-based systems. WiFi antennae pics up well, and the 1080p stream doesn't seem to impact my network noticably. The app is stable on my Android phone.

Netvue - Does not have an NTV3 to MP4 converter and beware of Pay Plan Extortion
Other prospective customers - This is a WONDERFUL camera. When it has a good wifi or wired connection you'll be happy day or night. You might run into a circumstance at night with flying bugs that can see the IR light that creates a clear night image. In this case, you might want to try turning off the Infrared Emitter and mounting a secondary emitter nearby but away from the lens. But here's a more important issue to consider. I have NOT been able to find a way to EXPORT the video files that have a native codec (the way the file is compressed) from Netvue's proprietary format of ".NTV3" to something that is readable by any standard video player such as Quicktime, Windows Media Player, or VLC.This greatly limits one's ability to present videos to others as evidence of theft and such. So, I am rating this a 2 star because of this lack of functionality. I should be able to copy the NTV3 files to my desktop and export them in their software.Netvue - you make a great group of products! Please, add this basic functionality (from the 2000's) to your desktop app, and I will, happily, change my review to a 5/5 star, because other than that, your software I found easy to use and easy to install. As of 4 months ago (today is 8.3.2021) users were still complaining about this issue, and it's been discussed as far back as over a year ago. With my professional background working with TV and Film projects, this is embarrassing and shameful not to have this simple functionality. And if I have overlooked a feature in your desktop app, please correct me and I will rewrite this review.HELP!2.11.2022 updateNetvue scams us a bit with this camera. Here's how:1. The Camera records the entire time onto our own little memory card (bought separately)2. If there is motion the camera triggers an "event", which appears in a list of events, good right??3. But...here's where they get you. There is something they call "cooldown time" and you CANNOT CHANGE IT from 5 MINUTES, unless you "buy their plan".4. Why is this an issue? If a car passes by at 4:45 on the street, and then at 4:46 a thief comes to steal something, you WILL NOT SEE the thief as a separate event. Why? The camera lumps the thief in with the 4:45 car event rather than registering the thief as it's OWN event.5. The frustrating thing is that the interface is sort of "dick-ish" where it SHOWS you the other cool down times, from 0 seconds, 1 min, and up to 1 hour, BUT if you try to select 1 minute, which is reasonable in a normal neighborhood, it states "SUBSCRIBE EVENT RECORDING PLAN".... yet we have our own memory card where it's being recorded the entire time. This was obviously an afterthought, as they clearly intended the user to be able to control the cooldown time.Really, REALLY lame, Netvue. Isn't it enough to sell us a camera?? Why do all of the camera companies have to extort their customers into a "Plan". I don't want your "plan". I want event triggers when I want them on a memory card of my choosing. This is the shortcoming of all of these smartcams...so beware. We will be shopping around for a camera company that simply sells you a camera to record your events and access your own IP and files over the web.
