It was an easy setup, and does what I need it to do - play DVD's. But what was most impressive was my experience with the company's customer service. First of all, their communication was outstanding. I had a minor issue that needed clarification. We went back and forth with emails. Their responses were immediate. They understood my situation and went to great lengths to work with me on a personal basis and understand my situation. My issue was solved perfectly. I can't say enough about their excellent customer services. EXCELLENT!

I was surprised by this player. It played Region 1 DVDs without any problems. The remote and device setup functions could be better, but they work too. It seems to automatically detect the disk type it is playing. I inserted a PAL, Region 2 title and it immediately started playing without my having to set the device to play a PAL disk. The PAL title's picture and sound quality were also better than I expected. I bought this inexpensive unit to play PAL / Region 2 titles and it did not disappoint. It is NOT a high end player, but it does what it is supposed to do. Other reviewers have noted that it fails soon after use. If this happens to me, I will downgrade my review. For now, I am satisfied with this player.

I needed a new DVD player to replace the one I had. The old one only had component jacks so I purchased this one with a HMDI jack. It has worked fine from the start until I made a mistake where I needed to contact the customer service. They handled my situation great and beyond my expectations. I like this one because it has the timer counter on the front where others did not. I would definitely buy this DVD unit again.

Got this given its region free capability when we needed a new DVD player. The player itself is fine. Picture quality is good. Scales nicely, renders DVDs nicely and brightly to our HDTV and lives up to its region-free billing. The problem is the remote. I hooked everything up and it worked fine. When we went back to use it the next time, a little over a month later, the remote would not work. I tried all the basic troubleshooting tips from Amazon - changing batteries, resetting the DVD player, complete power cycle - but to no avail. There is a QR code on the packaging for technical support, and I tried it to deal with this issue directly with them or deal with this under warranty, but the URL for the manufacturer's general website, maiteco.com, does not open and returns domain errors in a browser. So now we are stuck with a DVD player that is practically unusable, because there are no physical buttons on the front of the player to navigate menus, select options, or skip chapters on the DVD. Given that this is an off brand, I am not even sure that a universal remote will pair with the DVD player. Very disappointed. Update: I eventually was able to communicate with Maite. All the communications were super shady. They offered to replace the remote for free id and only if I was willing to change my review to 4 or 5 stars and send a picture of my updated review. I refused to be bribed. Honestly, I should have reported the whole thing to Amazon, but never got around to it. I got suckered into buying a replacement remote that they sent a link for. instead because I refused to play their review editing game. If I aim it just right, I can sometimes open the setup menu or open the DVD tray, but the remote is so unresponsive after that I can't do anything. The one thing the remote does seem to reliably control for some odd reason is the fan in my living room. I may try my luck with a unversal remote and see if it's any better, but I'm not holding my breath. Steer clear if at all possible.

We bought this during labour day sales, though the price was decent, functions are what we needed. Had to say, I wasn’t expecting much because of the positive & negative reviews they got, but once I received the dvd player, it’s pretty legit, our family use it to watch kids dvd’s or classic dvds. It plays all day long and its still seems pretty smooth, great interface. My husband would buy some classic dvds from Europe or Mexico and this dvd player had no problem playing those. It would be best if they could improve the user manual for more details, but overall, I loved it. Especially their online video tutorial to teach how to set up the dvd player was beyond what I paid for (our old ones did not have), so had to give credit for their service. Not to mention the quality of the HDMI cables it came with was even better than what we bought serval days ago on amazon.. so that was surprisingly good. The shape seems solid to me, it fell once but it still works well. Last but not least, we don’t use the mic feature that often cause we don’t have a mic.. lol, but it’s great that it comes with it, cuz our kids love singing with the TV show Dora… so we might consider buying a mic in the future. All in all, great price, quality, and legit! I would recommend it.

Easy to use, lightweight, works great. My old DVD player died so I needed something to play my movies.

Really like this DVD player. Compact size is perfect for my space. Love that it has HDMI cables, it works with my older and newer TVs. I was really happy to find this multiple device capability DVD player. Customer service replied so quickly and was great when I had questions!

Simple and reliable Works well

Muy confiable, bien hecho, se siente de calidad. Reproduce todos los DVD que tengo, originales y copiados en casa. Muy sólido. Me gusta que recuerda dónde se quedó la película. Lo único que no me gusta es el control está un poco raro la ubicación del botón play. Tampoco me gusta mucho que el contador de tiempo llega nada más hasta 99 minutos y luego se reinicia. Pero esos son detalles menores. Lo importante es que funciona muy bien y es muy versátil pues tiene varias conexiones como HDMI y también RCA y RCA composite. Muy completo a muy buen precio. La calidad de imagen muy bien sin queja
