Westinghouse 5169100 4.5 Watt (40 Watt Equivalent) G25 Dimmable Half Chrome Filament LED Light Bulb, E26 Medium Base, Single

These worked great in a bedroom where there is a single light fixture in the ceiling (in this case a ceiling fan with a one bulb fixture). Normally, when the light is on and you are lying in bed, that light is blinding, or at least distracting and uncomfortable. With one of these bulbs in place, the light is reflected up and more dispersed around the room. It no longer shines in my eyes when I am lying in bed, watching TV. It is the perfect solution for that problem. Since it is a bedroom, the light doesn't need to be super bright. We have lamps for the areas where we need additional light, like the nightstand. It casts a nice warm glow around that little bedroom.

The metallic finish in the bulb really gives it more of a cool look to the already cool looking oversized bulb. I would recommend choosing less watts if you don’t need that much light; the LED lights tend to be brighter than incandescent. Also, the color of the light is the perfect warm white, which looks very natural and is easy to match with your other lights in the room. I can’t say much about the durability of the bulb because I have not been using long enough, but so far so good! Recommended.

Quality bulb

I was lucky to get a single name brand bulb here at half price, but after maybe 1,000 hours actually on (no dimmer used) it's already slow to full bright from off (78°F ambient) and is burning too dim to read by. you can take a chance if you need this format, but i would not get this item if your bulb socket is out of reach and relamping can get labor expensive.

Opened the box and the Westinghouse logo smacks you in the face. Who's the genius at Westinghouse that thought to put their brand right on the end of a decorative light bulb?! Luckily, the chrome mirror paint is on the inside of the light bulb. So if you have some 100% acetone nail polish remover, and a cotton ball, the logo can be rubbed off. Other than that, they're great.

I got a new lamp and lampshade, but from the design, the location of the ball was near the top of the shade is very annoying to have the bright light coming out at the top and actually being able to see the top of the bulb. This overtop solves the problem. It keeps the light in the area of the shade and gets rid of annoying glare.

A perfect replacement for the original incandescent bulb. That bulb failed after just a few months. This LED replacement has lasted ever since.

I've used these in older fixtures/lamps. I recently refurbished a couple of old heat/sun lamps to use as reading lamps, and they are perfect. I've used this style for years, and being able to get them in LED is great. These are of higher quality than some of the cheap no-name 'brands' that endlessly crop up in stores.

somewhat costly bulbs

They look great and feel great sending Avery nice glow. The light is excellent. They dim with very little flickering. However GE has chosen to put he branding on the end of the bulbs. Looks like a big red mark. You can’t hide the branding. GE this isn’t 1990’s Club Monaco branding wars. No one wants to see your logo on something like this. We trust GE for almost everything at our studio. Sadly with their specialty bulbs the marketing department missed the boat. If you need the bulb branded put it on the stem where it will be visible with the light off but not when on.
