Works flawlessly!
Great..! These are larger and have better prongs than the old 500mbs version...They "stick" in the outlets better as they are 3 prong, not 2 prong like the old ones...I'm sure that results in a better connection... I also went from 62 Mbps (that's megaBIT, btw, not megaBYTE, a bit is 1/8 th of a byte, so 62Mbps = 8 megs or so) on Comcast's "up to 150 meg" level of service to the maximum I've seen on Speedtest.net, which is 120 Mbps...Which is all I wanted/expected... So what did I do to install them? Since I was already using "ActionTec" 500 mbps, I had one device in the living room, plugged into the outlet and plugged directly into the router/modem...(combo device)...Then the second unit was plugged into the wall (same wall in the house, but IDK if, as some people say, the signal has to go back to the main panel, then back out, I don't believe it does) in my office and my computer was connected to it via Ethernet...And that's it...It is literally plug and play... They DO come with two ethernet cables, but I haven't used them, so I can't attest to their quality, or length...I think they are 6'. I can say they are white... You also get some lights on each device...3 green lights means everything is working properly... In the several years I've had the ActionTec 500mbps devices, I've never had any problems that I could trace back to the powerline adapters...I hope to have the same experience with these...

An easy, effective solution to weak home WiFi
We had an issue where, for some reason or other, our PlayStation 4 was having difficulty connecting via WiFi to the Internet or maintaining a connection or maintaining a *strong* connection. Hulu, as many of you know, is the most notorious video app on the PS4 while streaming. Lag, lag, lag. Anyhow, I did some googling while trying to figure out a stress free, cost effective solution when someone on a forum mentioned the word Powerline. I was actually googling for Wi-Fi extenders but Powerline caught my attention. And to be honest, I’m a little old-school and I prefer a wired connection over Wi-Fi. This is the best of both worlds because I didn’t have to run ugly cables all over the house to the PS4 from the router, which is all the way across the house. All I had to do was plug in to an electrical outlet one of the units near the router, connect them with the network cable (2 are provided), and then walked over to the PlayStation and did the same there. That was it. Very, very easy set up. Everything was up and running within seconds. Tested the connection with Hulu. Absolutely zero lag. Works like a charm; I’m very happy with this purchase.

Works great, but over time...
I originally bought two sets, so 4 in total. I had one a the router and two in separate rooms. I was really impressed with how simple setup was and with how fast they were in receiving and sending data. Over the course of about 8-12 months I began to loose the ones used as a sender. I'm still not sure if it was due to power surges or power drops, but once I got down to just 2 units, I decided to pull the plug. it's just a little pricey to replace every year. This is a darn shame because it was very convenient. (Decided to hard wire high speed through the attic instead.)

Works right out of the box. Eliminates slow down from congested wireless bands
I live on a 1/3 acre, so have neighbors that are within range wit their wireless signals. Last I counted, there were 15 networks with a "good" signal at my house - only 2 of them mine. Needless to say, with all those networks and everyone a home for school and work, the wireless gets congested and slows down. Not good when I too am working through video-conferencing. Solution - this device. Plug one into an outlet and connect the ethernet cable to a router port. Plug the other into an outlet in your office and attach the ethernet cable to your machine. No need for wireless. Instant wired connection without running CAT 5 everywhere. No noise. No issues. There is a light on the unit that lets you know if you have a good connection between the devices. Green is best, but yellow and red are still better than the in-and-out wireless signals.

When you hold it down like the manual advises
I should have paid attention to all of the other reviews. I bought several of these to get away from wifi in my house. They're advertised as 1000Mbps, but with speed tests I reliably only ever got 1Mbps down and 2-3Mbps up. That's an abysmal drop in speeds. The latency hovers somewhere around the same as wifi, so there's no real gain there. I never did get the security button to work. When you hold it down like the manual advises, there is no indication on the unit that it is trying or has created a secure network, and plugging in additional units connects just fine. The manual suggests that once you secure the network, additional units will need to be added to the secure network before they operate, so clearly this wasn't working. Then, there's the reliability. Even plugging only a single pair into sockets, the network indicator light moves between green, amber and red randomly, and there's nothing turned on in the house. Speeds don't increase when the light indicates a better connection. And finally, starting tonight (only a few days after installing), I can randomly not even ping my router from my desktop unless I unplug the connection to the powerline adapter, so it is somehow interfering with the rest of the network. This has happened multiple times now.

Good, Just not for my Situation
Not impressed with these at all. They advertise 1000Mbps, which they provide sort of. In the network and sharing center, my speed was 1Gbps. When I ran the Google speed test I got 3Mbps, yes THREE! That is like dial up. I have 150Mbps coming into my home, so I expected more than 3, but not my full speed. But I had done some research on these powerline adapters before I bought this set, and I knew they were hit or miss. I guess I missed but I get why: My router is on the bottom floor and my computer that was using the powerline was upstairs. SO, the signal had to jump over quite a few circuits on the breaker box, so I understand why my speed was so low. That's why I am not giving these a one star review, because I know they did the best they could with the path they had available. For my situation, they just did not work. However, they did not need any maintenance in the two weeks I had them. They are truly plug and play, no setup required. My final solution, a PCI based WiFi card providing 120Mbps, which is good enough. My ISP is kinda shady, so my speed fluctuates a lot. PROS: SUPER easy setup No maintenance small enough you can still use the top socket Well-built Netgear product CONS: Can be slow depending on where you have them setup FINAL: I am sure these would be awesome if they were in the same room, or even on the same floor. But they did not work for me, and I did not really expected them to. I just wanted to see how they would do before I jumped on the airwaves. Gotta love Netgear though, super easy setup and no reliability issues.

Bought for gaming and the best non-ethernet option for my situation.
Works great in a 1966 house! My reason for purchase was to have a low-latency, minimal jitter alternative to ethernet since that was not a feasible option for the purpose of playing games online. Originally bought the same product at a brick and mortar store with a similarly priced USB wifi adapter to test which would work best for my situation and spent over an hour running speed tests, modem ping tests, and manipulating the 2 other wifi options I had (dongle, front panel vs back, etc). In the end, while the wifi option was averaging the same 2ms to my modem and the same 23ms on SpeedTest, the jitter became noticeable on batches of 50 ping tests. On the wifi adapter I would see a lot of 2-3ms hits and the occasional 65ms spike, whereas the Powerline never jumped above 7ms. After coming from ethernet only at my other house, this resulted in a +10ms average in Battlefield 1 without any spikes or jitter. Pro tip- Buy this at a brick and mortar store for a faster turnaround on return policy. Your house will either have decent wiring (like mine) or it will be garbage and no powerline kit will be able to get over bad copper.

Once you are satisfied with your signal
This product is just what I needed in order to get gigabit ethernet down to a room that is not ethernet-ready. The package includes two of the powerline adapters, two 6-foot ethernet cables, and some quick information on how to get started. However, I didn't even need that to get up and running. The powerline adapters basically take the place of a long ethernet cable, essentially using your in-home electrical grid to provide access to a room that requires ethernet, instead of blindly running ethernet calling everywhere! One adapter plugs into an outlet near your internet source (your router, a switch, or some other source of ethernet). The other unit plugs in where you need the ethernet (your computer, printer, or whatever device you are wanting to connect using a wired connection). There are three LED indicators on either unit, all which will help you get the system set up. Once you plug in both units, they will attempt to "find" each other, and the Pick-a-Plug LED will illuminate based on the connection signal. In order to improve your signal, try using outlets on the same side of the house, and reduce distance by selecting the closest outlets possible. Once you are satisfied with your signal, you just need to connect the included ethernet cables from the devices to the adapters, and once you see the ethernet LED turn green on the adapter, your connection is live. These units work super fast with any 10/100/1000 network and have the most functionality for the price tag. These are great for traffic-heavy tasks such as streaming video, watching TV and many other high demand applications. Overall, the setup took five minutes or less, and I am enjoying zippy internet on my computer, smart TV, and cable set top box, all without any lag and a clean and consistent connection.

Good
Overall really good so far, just don't plug it into an extension cord or a surge protector. I made this mistake and was about to return it, but I plugged both ends directly into the wall and it works great.

Efficace
