Rayovac-Volt Heavy Duty Lantern Battery, 6V-HD 6

Works great and lasts long. Not much more to add. A battery is a battery. The price is really good.

I bought this battery to run a piece of demonstration equipment that only needs to run occasionally. Need a battery at a low price that will last a long time. It meets these needs.

This is a standard lantern 6-volt battery. It arrived fresh and works well, as expected. The only problem is the price. If you look around a bit, even on Amazon, you can find a 6-volt flashlight, WITH a battery, for less than the price of this replacement battery. For example, here is an Eveready lantern and battery: Eveready(R) Utility Lantern Unfortunately, I made that discovery AFTER I had already purchased this battery. Still, I guess I could always use another flashlight... You just need to shop around a bit for the best prices.

Long before Copper Tops, Lithium, and a host of other "super" materials, there were these! Plain, simple, and oh, so sufficient! There are still several Flashlights and Beacon lanterns that require these special 6 Volt Batteries. There's simply no need to spend triple price when these beauties will do just fine. Ray-O-Vac has been supplying the Battery needs of our great Nation at a fair price for Decades! Well built and ready, these Batteries will power up the classic style lights and not drain one's wallet!

I order four of these batteries for a radar chronograph. When I received the package, I immediately plugged in one to the chronograph device because I had some equipment I had serviced that needed calibration over the chronograph. Low and behold the chronograph indicated the battery power was low! On a brand new battery I just received! Not a big deal because I still had work that needed to be done, so I take another battery from the package and I get the same low battery status. I tried a third then the fourth and final battery with no success... So I figured, maybe the radar chronograph was misreading the batteries and decided to test each battery with a multimeter for voltage. Guess what, none of the batteries I had received registered a power output anywhere close to 6 volts!!! All "NEW" batteries barely registered over 4 volts of power!!! I was sent "OLD" useless batteries!!!

This battery is doing just as good as the bigger names that start with the letters D & E (Copper top & the Bunny brands). I got it as a add on item while making another purchase, so amazon gave me free shipping. It's just as good as the others but cost less. I've had no problems with the battery & recommend it.

It's a Lantern battery! bought it to see if there were 32 AAA batteries inside! Wrong; just 4 big 1-1/2 volt batteries. Tapped it back together and put in a lantern flashlight where it was made for!

The battery lasted less than 1 year. We use it to check our back yard for skunks before letting our dog out. So each use is maybe 90 seconds and it is only used in the fall and winter months. If I had to guess we used it for a total of 10-15 hours max. Not worth the money even though it was not very expensive. I will be looking for a different brand to replace it.
