Solid Little Touchscreen That Just Works
Iโve used a lot of small Raspberry Pi screens and most are either junk or way overpriced. This one actually does what itโs supposed to do. Running it on Raspberry Pi 5 and Pi 4 for dashboards and SDR projects. Plugged it in and it worked immediately. Touch was recognized right away with no driver drama or calibration nonsense. Resolution is fine for this size and perfect for control panels, radar maps, stats, and terminal windows. Touch response is accurate and fast enough that I actually use it instead of a mouse. Build quality is better than expected. The metal frame feels solid and not toy-like. Stand is decent, and itโs easy to mount or integrate into other builds. If you want a reliable 7 inch touchscreen for a Pi without headaches, this is a good pick.

Works great!
Worked straight out of the box with my pc on windows 10. Definitely a great buy for someone needing a little extra screen space without completely breaking the bank

Great value for the money. Nice, but does NOT work with Windows 10!
Excellent value for the money. Worked right out of the box on an older Gateway desktop system running Linux. Great color rendition, and lots of resolution. Not quite as successful on a mini-PC running Windows 10, but I suspect I need to load the special drivers that come with it on a DVD (I have no DVD input to the mini-PC, so I'll have to transfer files using a jump drive) to get proper performance. This is the mini-PC I'm using: Beelink Z83-II Mini PC Intel Atom x5-Z8350 Processor (2M Cache, up to 1.92 GHz) Intel HD Graphics 400, DDR3 2GB + 32GB(C:)/ 1000Mbps LAN/ Dual-Band WiFi/ BT 4.0 [Support Windows & Linux System ] At least, I hope that solves the problem. Update One: It turns out that there are no special drivers needed for Windows. I just needed to reboot the mini-PC, and that got all the proper Windows drivers running. The display on the mini-PC was rock solid, with great definition and color. However, after some testing, I found that the touch portion of the screen interface appeared to be defective. Elecrow was very supportive, and corresponded with me daily to iron out this issue. They even offered to credit me some cash if I wanted to accept the screen with the defect. But touch functionality is necessary for my project, so I am sending this one back to get another - because the display functionality is that good! Update Two: Well, now I know the real issue. This display is compatible with Windows 7, but NOT with Windows 10. According to the Seller, their technician determined that a system running Windows 10 cannot identify the device number correctly (I suspect the touch screen is driven as a mouse, and not a true touch screen, because a USB mouse device "ByQDtech" appears when the display is connected to the computer - other displays similar to this one have the same problem). There may be a software update in the future, but for now, this display does NOT work with Windows 10.

Quality product and excellent price
Not my first, or second product I've purchased from elecrow. Compatible with the RPI5, touch screen works flawlessly. I have a 5 inch that's a bit small, this is much better to work with for my eye sight. Easy to use, plug and play. I love this screen size. I used this along with my 5 inch display to make a dual screen go box for amateur radio. Very portable.

Works with Windows XP Tablet PC Edition
I bought this screen for a project that uses Windows XP, had trouble getting it to work at first (no input registered). What I found is that the touch will only work on Windows XP if you're using a Tablet PC Edition. Picture quality is great too - if not a bit high-contrast for my application - and it looks great from all angles. My sole complaint is the lack of brightness control, the display is fairly bright which can't be tamed. The backlight on/off switch is exactly as it says, but switched off it's invisible under my typical use conditions. It's worth noting that I couldn't get touch to work with the secondary USB port plugged into a wall wart, no matter in what order they were plugged in. I'd guess they're both intended to be plugged into the same host machine, but right now it's working fine with just the one.

Knockoff of the WaveShare, no drivers for new Raspbian releases. Get WaveShare instead.
This item is a knock-off of the WaveShare 7" 1024x600 Touch display, at the same price point. Visit WaveShare's website and they address the knock-off problem. There's a picture of this board right on their site, calling it out for what it is. I realized this after buying the Elecrow, and am now returning it. The Elecrow screen itself isn't measurably different or bad, but the touch sensor is the problem. There are no drivers for this. All they provide is a set of SD card images for the raspberry pi (on a CD. Finding a way to read that in 2016 was a hoot.), pre-configured to work with the screen. But these are old and outdated OSes, and doesn't do you any good at all if you intend to use this with something other than Raspbian. After a lot of digging, I found driver files by the company that makes the sensor component, but they're not compatible with the latest Raspbian update (nor the newer version of most alternative images). Running this touchscreen is no longer feasible with a modern Pi OS. The WaveShare, on the other hand, released revision 2.1 of their PCB (the Elecrow board says 2.1 as well, but it's not the same) and made the touch screen a standard HID-compliant device. This means no drivers. If the OS supports a mouse, it supports the touch screen. Save yourself a lot of hassle and spend the same amount of money on the authentic version. Mine came in today and worked right out of the box.

Good screen, easy to set up, good price, nothing much to worry about with this.
Nice, solid built screen and responsive too, bright pixels. Really there's nothing to worry about with this, worked before I even installed the drivers. I use it in a zynthian build with a PI 3 and it works great... don't even need to calibrate it, just plug it in and run the console commands and its ready in a few minutes. I would only complain about that HDMI cable - it could have been shorter and more flexible to suit the PI mounting on the back a bit better. You will need a powered USB, I suggest just getting a powered USB hub and powering the screen and PI with that.

Great quality!
I'm using this with a Mac Mini M1. Super clear, worked right away and I don't experience any lag using mouse or keyboard. Note! It doesn't have a case, the backside is rough and fairly exposed, I will make a stand for it, that will probably do for me.

Perfect mini monitor
Amazing screen. Worked out of the box, plug and play. It's a perfect third monitor for me I put under my main monitor to watch videos on while working. The resolution fits perfectly with the 7 inch screen making for a very clear and bright picture
