Great Improvement!
I purchased the "paintable" version of these window shutters and was a little surprised that they require special painting procedures. I've bought, painted and installed window shutters for some time but had not run into that requirement before.These units do not come with paintable screw caps as other window shutters do.The paintable shutters accepted paint and look good as installed. I'm pleased with the final results.

Probably as good as is available anywhere.
They had the size I needed so I Ordered the Paintable version.These were a few dollars less than Home Depot in a comparable size but HD didn't have panel shutters or any style in my size.Shipping was prompt. Packing seemed safe. Plenty of their mounting materialsThe revelation was when I unpacked them.They were translucent and about as sturdy looking as a Dollar Tree gallon pitcher. They looked nothing like the paintable image.Who would ship them back at this point?We used a coat of Kilz exterior primer and then I ditched the idea of painting them a deep blue I had used on other trim. I couldn't imagine how many coats of deep color paint I'd need.2 coats of exterior white paint and they looked nice.We bought proper screws on the 2nd floor and they are really up there now. I am looking for little button tops to cover the screw heads.The job is done and I hope they hold the paint in Ohio winters.If they hold up I'd like to come back and make that report.

Great shutters
We received the shutters about three weeks ago but just had them installed by our house painters this week. We are extremely happy with them. The shutters are well made, though they are fairly thin but are strong material.
