Saved myself $2000 on a new mattress -- recommend you follow my tips to maximize benefit
This same review applies to both the Queen and King sizes -- I bought the Queen as a "test" for the spare bedroom, and within 3 days bought "the big one" for the master bed.Original problem: Our master bed was simply too hard for two completely different sleepers. My wife sleeps on her back or side, while I sleep mostly on my side or front. We had a fabric+pad topper on top of it, but this wasn't enough. (Yes, I definitely went too far with the "want something firm" when I bought this mattress in the first place, but that's long-sunk cost now...)When the box arrived, I was immediately skeptical. The shipping box is shockingly small, and equally shockingly heavy for its size.Tip 1: DO NOT open the box until you're in the location you'll use to fully-expand -- AND VENTILATE -- the foam padding.Tip 2: DO NOT use an open blade to open the box, and especially not to open the hard plastic wrap keeping the foam rolled & folded. Use scissors in an upward-cutting motion, pulling the plastic wrap away from the foam as you leverage for each cut. The foam will be aggressively trying to expand as you're snipping away at the plastic! (In retrospect this was a bit funny to unpack.)In my case, I unpacked and vented BOTH the Q and the K in my spare bedroom, since no one's usually in there.I have "super-smell power", and there IS a mild smell when you first unpack the foam. It's not a solvent smell, or ammonia-like, or anything you'd normally associate with plastics and foam... it's a mild, basic/bitter-type smell. Note that the foam looks TERRIBLE when you first unroll it -- don't panic!Tip 3: Be rather gentle when rolling it out -- use your full arm-length, like you're trying to not tear pizza dough, rather than pinching or grabbing spots to try to re-position it. Your goal remains to NOT cut/tear the foam, and pinching = scissors from here out.Tip 4: Use a box fan on low-speed to circulate air around the room, and just leave the door open. Let the mattress air out for TWO full days, and (again, using full arm-length) flip it after the first day.At this point, I had to plan the "layer strategy" for the bed. (Assume everything listed is "deep pocket", because nothing else will work.) Here's what I decided, starting from the bottom layer:1. Existing padded mattress topper.2. This thick foam pad topper.3. Waterproof mattress sheet.4. The included padded mattress topper.5. Regular mattress sheet.Re: Heat: The key here is the layering -- since the highest risk of heat absorption is the foam itself, keeping it further away AND under the sealed-layer of the waterproof sheet (i.e., no airflow) allows the highly-ventilated padded topper to do its job well. The additional heat is just barely noticeable in this arrangement.(Yes, this foam topper is also very good for adult activities, for those wondering. The slight "sinking in" is great for retaining positioning while still being comfy.)After just a few nights testing the Q in the guest room, I bought the K for the Master BR and followed the exact procedure again. The net result is about a 25%-30% better sleep result for a tenth of the cost & waste of replacing entire mattresses.(BTW, there's absolutely no sponsorship, product provided, or any of that garbage here, in case you're wondering. I bought the product myself after searching DOZENS of other products and reviews, loved it, bought another one, and hope this helps other troubled sleepers!)

maybe best to buy foam and comfy mattress top cover separate
1st, the product I received was not fully wrapped and definitely pre-owned and not new. (I did purchase a New Item). through the plastic, I could see there were some deep yellowing/even brownish staining in a small area of the foam pad. I was unsure to continue or simply return. aesthetics are not an issue for me, seemed plausible just a discoloration and nothing to worry about. after a very annoying time just to remove the plastic wrapping bag, I instantly regretted having done so. the stench was not too awful, but very uncomfortably unpleasant. chemicals upon chemicals upon chemicals. definitely a heavy amount of formaldehyde. which is more common than not in many textile products. but machine washing a foam pad and pillow top and netting and weird plasticy cloth fabric is not happening. the pictures provided by the company and Amazon are very misleading. definitely not 2 inches of foam. maybe a 1/2 inch. nor 1+1/2 inches of fluffy cloud padding. maybe 1/2 inch. I dont know how to describe much of the fabric, except to say it seemed I unfurled a gigantic diaper onto my mattress. there are 4 separate pieces: a bottom cloth/plastic sheet thing, stinky stained flat mushed unevenly memory foam, a netting kinda thing to wrap over and under your mattress, and a scratchy cloth covered sheet with a bit of fiber piled and stitched in a way to make it appear it is raised and plush. the staining must have been from the foam having been soaked with a liquid something somehow and the smell of mildew grossness. so, 5 years-ish previous, I had purchased a $40-$50 2 inch plush bamboo and cotton fiber filled mattress pad which is fabulous soft and even firm enough to help with my chronic pain... just thought maybe upgrading would be good. perhaps will buy a foam or something other pad for underneath what I already own. of course, items can be hit or miss with Amazon, but this was just not worth the crossing of fingers that it will be a win. other customers have received "used" products, complained of the intense smell, and the extreme lack of quality. sleep well Everyone♡

Sleeping on a Cloud
My back and neck were bothering me and I was trying to figure out what was causing it. Well, I went on vacation and it disappeared ... I finally figured out I was sleeping on pillow top mattresses as opposed to my California King insert into my old old waterbed. (For reasons I won't go into I can't "junk" the waterbed). So, what to do? Looking at new mattresses was a sticker shock to say the least, not to mention the issues of getting it into my bedroom, getting the old one out etc etc etc. Since the cookies seem to know everything you do "pop up" ad for a pillow Top cover for my mattress! OK ... So I looked and looked and read the reviews. This one seemed to be the one I wanted, so I started the ordering process.... OH WAIT! 1-2 MONTHS for delivery? Yikes! So I took a couple of days and looked again at my options. Nope.. this was the one. I'd been sleeping on the mattress without a pillow top for 3 years a couple of months wasn't going to make a difference. "BUY". It wasn't a 2 Month wait but about 10 days. I unrolled it and the directions said it would take 2-3 days for the foam to decompress. I was a little worried but by day 3 my bed was 4" higher! AND after a month it's still a little shock of pleasure when I lie down on the bed .... sigh ... it's hard to get up too.... soooo sooooo comfortable.

The pillow top material is somewhat "rough" and doesn't seem like it is able to "breath"
Have been sleeping on a memory foam topper for 12-14 years. This one was way too soft, probably 2.0 or less density. I am 6 ft 180 Lbs. As a side sleeper it just caves in, no support. The pillow top material is somewhat "rough" and doesn't seem like it is able to "breath", making the entire unit for me to sleep slightly warm. Sent it back after 4 days and Amazon was great about the refund. Save the outer box it comes in in case of return because it will not fit back into the inner box.
