Librett Durables Butchers Twine, Cotton, 370-Feet, Brown

One spool will last a long time. Before I switched to this, I had tried several other "butcher twines." They were either too bulky or too small. This is pure cotton and ties nicely. It's thick enough not to cut into the meat too much, and not so thick that it feels like a rope. It has never broken on me, and I pull it pretty tight. After your slip knot to get the roast how you want it, it will hold while you put in a couple of square knots to keep it. This is so much better than the elastic stockings some butchers use for making a nice, round rib or any other roast.. It's also a good , general purpose string.

Like others have said, this is a nice string....but what I liked is that all you do is keep the package shrink wrapped, poke a hole in the top and you can pull out (I need scissors to grab the end) the end string and it will pull neatly out of the center. Shrink wrap keeps the whole ball neatly wrapped and clean, in case you bumble and drop it on the floor. Well worth the bit extra $$. and MADE IN USA

Easy to handle, reasonably strong and suitable for everything from trussing a chicken to bundling the newspapers for recycling. Take care when you first open the roll and it'll dispense tangle free till the last few feet of the roll.

The butcher twine works excellent. It holds its knots well and the perfect thickness

I bought a nice little kitchen twine holder and it came with a ball of twine. However, the twine was not wrapped and it looked yellowed/dirty. I realized then that the container was made in China, and had to believe that the twine was also made there--God knows how many people handled it and where it had been on its travels. So I tossed the twine, washed the container, and searched Amazon for some nice Butcher's twine. I found this and it seemed the perfect size--and is WRAPPED. It arrived in no time and looked 100% better than the original twine I had gotten, and so for that reason I am pleased and giving it five stars. Hopefully, this twine is made in the USA and was immediately wrapped upon completion . . . can't stand the thought of contamination in the kitchen!

There’s not too much to say about this product. If you’re looking for butchers twine (aka string), this is exactly what you need! It’s a soft string, but easy to work with. It holds what it’s supposed to hold in place and doesn’t start on fire in the oven. It was easy to remove after I was finished cooking, and didn’t leave any residue or taste behind. It was exactly as described and I couldn’t be happier with this purchase. Everything is going to get made with Butcher’s Twine now!

This is a perfect, strong, soft cotton string. We used it at my wedding to hang a bunch of things and also to tie up sponge bombs for a water fight (it was a beach wedding.) We took comfort knowing that it was pretty much biodegradable out there on the beach if any got left behind, but I will buy this again anytime I need some sort of hefty string because it worked really great for everything we used it for.

I must admit that when I ordered this string I paid little attention to where it was actually coming from. I did think it was taking rather a long time to arrive and was thinking of contacting amazon . The very next day a parcel arrived from Europe with a European customs stamp.The price however was in US$.and oon checking I discovered that it was originally posted in the US and in fact, made there in New Rochelle NY10881. Dont we make string anymre?
