Does the job

The drive is perfectly adequate as the main storage on a home security camera server. As the device overwrites older data, 1Tb is more than enough to allow for reasonably long term storage of camera footage. The drive is almost silent in the server meaning I don't have to hide the unit away.

As Sony announced the plan to shut down the PS3 store I ordered this to replace the drive in my “fat” PS3 so I could finally install all my online purchases and all my physical games. The drive arrived in a little less padded packaging than I’d have liked for a drive with moving parts. But after installing it and finding absolutely no issues I was happy. it was easy to install into the PS3 (the only issue I had was removing the old drive that came with the console). I am annoyed though, that I paid for 1tb and it’s showing up as 931gb of storage (not sure if I’m “missing something” or where the other 69gb went), but if I paid for 1tb I expect to get 1tb. Apart from that I have had not issues with it. Very easy to install, formatting it was a breeze, and not at all overly noisy so I guess it’s was a decent purchase. Should have been a 5 star purchase, removed a star for the missing 69gb

I had to test it before writing a review it’s been 7 months and still working even smoother than I thought, obviously you should go to PlayStation website on a computer or a laptop or even on an iPad use a usb drive to install the latest update then insert the usb and plug in the controller in your ps4 press and hold the start button on ps4 for 3-5 seconds until you hear a peep and then go to initiate ps4 (reinstall system software) option it’s a must step or won’t work, then press ok that’s it wait for the update to finish installing and you can use you ps4 normally.
