are these made in China?

They are made in China. They are less than 1/3 wool. They are short and the sizes run very small. They skimp on materials. I live in Alaska and would not consider them thick or heavy or for winter!

Do they have a tight band my husband has swollen legs

Bought them for my husband , he loves them. The band isn’t tight, very stretchy, I’d definitely order again!!!

How tight are the tops of the socks? I have had issues of late in sock tops being so tight they leave indentations and are uncomfortable.

Stretch them out before wearing them .. When washed, they go back to the regular size, they don't stay stretched out ..

How tall are these socks? What is the dimension from the heel to the top of the cuff?

I wore once in Canada, they worked great. Washed once, the length from mid heel to the top was 6-1/2 to 7 inches. However, plenty of stretch in the sock.
