Great Fit, Great for Heat, Not for cold
Great fit. These are hardened clay beads. Love the way it sits on the neck. Read heat instructions before you use and you need to know how many watts your microwave is. I heat for 30secs, then flip, then another 30 secs. Heat lasts about 20mins. Really warm. Works well. I tried the freezer also. Initially it's nice and cold, but it dies fast as they are the hard clay pellets. If you want cold, I recommend a soft pliable clay pack by thermipaq

Even, long-lasting heat (or cold)
Best heating pad ever (or can use as cold compress). Keeps the heat longer than the gel-filled type. Even, moist heat, comfortable enough to sleep with. So much better for your health than a plug-in heating pad. I lost my first one on a trip and immediately bought a replacement. There is nothing that compares to this product!

Ok product.
Heat pack slips out of the cover easily. Doesnt stay warm for long, maybe 15 min then it is time to reheat. Helped with pain though, just requires alot of reheating.

Be careful when using and enjoy some relief from aching muscles.
I use the 6.5x12 size and really enjoy them. Try medium settings on the microwave for a little bit longer time and be careful of the edges, the one end can slip out of the cover and burn! They last a good long time before stiffening up and becoming unusable, and the heat is welcome for stiff muscles. The heat lasts a decent time, but be careful, it is easy to overheat the area you have the pad on, so be aware. No smell that I can detect, and it is a plastic-bound clay insert into the blue fabric holder with a strap that honestly I have never found that useful. Check the prices for sales as the cost can bounce around, but for help with those lower back aches, it works a treat.

Does not hold heat for long
The shape and fit really were attractive, but we were looking to replace the ThermiPaq that my wife has been using for a few years. We understood that this used the same clay compound that's in the old one we are using, but this one uses a combination of flax and clay. When heated fire the maximum time recommended, it only stays warm for 5-8 minutes. We exchanged it for one which used clay(only) for filling.

NO smell and work well!
My wife and I both have these neck wraps. We replaced the same exact item after food spots put holes in them. They are quick to heat and use and work quite well to relieve stiffness in the neck and down the shoulder blades. There is NO smell and can be velcroed at the neck to keep in place.

good for the neck
Heats and stays warm well. Would like it to be a little wider to cover the shoulder bone/clavicle area. Great for the neck. The beads inside slide around so if you move a lot, this will shift.

FLIMSY! , FALLING APART AT less than 1 MONTH OF USE!.Try their CLAY PACKS INSTEAD!
Long-time user of their clay pads, the BEST and MOST VERSITLE I've found for chronic pain, This unit gives only 20-25 minutes of barely decent heat. VELCRO fell off at 3 weeks of daily use. My pads (own 4) are up to 3 yrs old & still going...will wait & see how long this lasts. IT IS A DISAPPOINTING ADDITION TO THE CLAY-BASED THERMAPACS THAT I'VE USED FOR YEARS (I HAVE 4 OF THOSE.)! MAKES ME CONCERNED TO BUY EVEN THE OLDER DESIGN (CLAY-BASED) PADS ANY MORE! I'D HESITATE TO TRUST THAT THE ALL IMPORTANT PLASTIC SEALER BAG TO SAFELY CONTAIN THE HOT CLAY MIGHT NOW BE MADE BY THE CHUMPS THAT ASSEMBLED THE "NEW" NECK DEVICE. WISH THERMA-PAC WOULD MAKE A SIMILAR SHAPED UNIT WITH THE SEMI-SOLID CERAMIC!!! My "pad" formula for bedtime is to heat their large pad, place on neck, and bind it with a cheap cervical foam collar: gets 3+ hrs of good heat. I also can apply Tiger Balm to skin, cover with saran wrap & place under the pad. I also use another pad, using their velcro straps like a backpack, over the thoracic spine area (very old, painful Fxs). All in all, Therma pac (THE ORIGINAL DESIGN!!!) is still the best, most affordable, flexible to use & safest heat therapy I've found in a 40-yr. history of pain. The clay-based pads give me over 1 hour of relief. (I think their ref. to the "Therapy" times of 25-30 minutes is based on what Medicare will pay for rather than what duration of heat therapy actually helps, especially for someone with several contributory problem adding to the pain in the 1st place. Blessings and Prayers for your Health and Happiness!
