Is the ammonite shell approximately 3 inches or 1 1/2 inches wide? I see both. And is there one or two?

Mine was about 3 inches and it is one specimen split for polishing

Beautiful quality, although a little smaller than I thought. It came well packaged and in good condition.

This is a great gift. The packaging leaves a little to be desired. They come in a hinged plastic display frame, but the frame has transparent plastic sheeting instead of something sturdy. The fossils are held in place by the plastic when the frame is closed, which leaves some bubbles of air along the polished side.
