Incredible Story of This Here Battery Box
So, crazy story, I purchase this item to go along with the Inventex 5-person inflatable boat and battery and hook it all up to a trolling motor and hit our lake with my wife during the day. So much fun. Everything works perfectly as it should. We get back to the dock and I tie up the raft and head up to the cabin. Around sunset, I ask her if she wants to go down to watch the sunset and she agrees, so we head down to the dock with a couple of cocktails. The wind had picked up quite a bit and we got some rain earlier, but the rain cleared up but much to our chagrin, it was still on the windier side. But the sunset was beautiful. As we are walking towards the dock, I notice the raft is upside down on our dock. I think to myself, 'our neighbors are so great, they flipped up our raft before it started raining. So kind of them. What lovely neighbors'. We get a little closer and I notice the raft is only 3/4 of the way out of the water and the trolling motor propeller was completely upside down out of the water and spinning like crazy. At first, I thought it was the wind spinning the propeller, but then I thought, the propeller is fixed in gear and shouldn't blow in the wind. As we get on the dock, we realize that the boat had blown over and the Battery Box was completely underwater hanging only by the trolling motor cables 3-feet below the waterline. The trolling motor handle somehow bumped the dock or pole and kicked into gear as the boat blew over and the box (and battery) was completely submerged - but could still see a little blue blinking light of the battery box underwater. I tried to pull the box out of the water by the trolling motor cables, the whole time thinking these cables are going to snap or break at the connection point, but it was so windy that the raft was acting like a sail in the wind and pushing me away from getting at the cables to pull the battery box up. So, I lie down on the dock and try pulling up the 70-pound, completely submerged battery which was pretty much impossible. I needed my wife's help to try and get the battery box out of the water, but was concerned for her safety and wondering how to do this - again, thinking the entire time that the cables were going to snap any moment and the battery box and battery would be at the bottom of the lake. The boat was putting so much pressure on the dock that it completely bent the reel on a fishing rod that was stuck in between. Fast forward past the part where we almost killed ourselves a few times, we finally get the battery box onto the dock, turn off the trolling motor, unhook the cables, open the battery box to find only about an inch of water in the box and the battery, itself, completely unscathed. I brought everything into the garage, dried it all off, let it sit for a couple hours before reassembling everything to recharge the battery from outside the box only to come out the next morning to a full charge and steady indicator light, as if nothing had ever happened! This box is a BEAST! From the strength of the connectors, to the good water-tightness (not waterproof) of the box and to the box's ability to work after being completely underwater for Lord only knows how long, this box is something else. Three lessons I learned: (1) invest in a good battery box (like this one), (2) strap it down tight and (3) never, ever leave your trolling motor hooked up to your inflatable raft that you leave in the water unattended (such a moron). Thankfully, no one got hurt and thanks to the battery box - nothing was damaged or lost and all is in perfect working order. Bam!

Great box 😄
This battery case is doing great so far. I really like features and sturdiness it has making it easier to carry a huge 100ah trolling motor. I at first got a smaller lighter battery but soon realized I needed 100ah battery for my 55lb thrust trolling motor to use with my raft. It protects it well and we are able to easily check the battery percentage. We can now spend 8 or more hours on our boat and by the end of the day we still have two lights left. I hope it continues to work good. Also we took our air machine on the raft and was able to plug it into the cigarette type charger on this case it was quick and simple to air our raft back up out on the lake. I recommend getting this battery box for your marine battery. It's really neat and helpful

Convenient, full featured, but weak material in circuit breaker cover
Very functional, feels solid, and has some extra features. Nice battery box for the boat, easy to carry, and generaly well made. The connection terminals are solid and easy to connect my trolling motor and electronics. Can charge battery without removing cover. I has a USB port (never used, but it's there if you need it) and an LED battery lever indicator that seems to work well enough. There is a circuit breaker for overload protection-- the "waterproof cover" on mine broke/tore after a few weeks though, despite never touching it. Seems like a weak point in the construction, but maybe not a big deal if the battery box isn't getting wet regularly.

Home run!!! Holds a 100 amp and a 20 amp!
Man, did I score with this one? Yes, absolutely. I have a Perception Outlaw 11.5 fishing kayak. Space is limited, So I had to choose carefully on my power setup. I really wanted to have more battery than I needed, but I was afraid that that was going to be impossible. That is, until I found the Newport vessels battery box and the batteries shown. It's a tight fit, but the first battery is a Power Queen 100 amp Premium II Lifepo4, and the other is a Goldenmate 20 amp Lifepo4. As you can see, it's a tight fit, but they both fit in the box. This gives me one nice compact package for the back of the boat that will run my trolling motor all day long, and it will also run my depth finder, lights, phone charger, GoPro, and anything else for a whole day of fishing. What a package! I plan on replacing the cigarette lighter plug with a power connector for the smaller battery. I'll use a 10 amp SAE female connector for the battery box, and another just like it into the boat, and wire the boat for a power controller. It'll be very easy to use the 10 amp breaker included with the battery box, and I plan on doing it. This battery box appears to be durable, the plastic is a little thicker than many, it includes a 50 amp breaker and a 10 amp breaker, a USB charging port, a battery meter, and a carry handle. Super duper. Great product. Very happy.

So many different uses
This is a game changer for anyone who powers electronics with a car battery. My go to for a 2nd battery source or off grid application. I use this battery box while camping to charge my phone, run a diesel heater and lights. On the farm I use it as a 2nd power source to power small electric pumps/sprayers. The battery level indicator is a big deal for me. When running low I can hook it to battery charger without removing the car battery from the box, so convenient. I’ve had this box a little over two years and feel like I use it more than the average customer. That being said, all of the wiring connections and handles have held up great. I 100 percent recommend.
