Q: Can you turn these off without the box, also do they charge on a charging mat?

If by turn off your referring to disconnecting the earbuds from the device they have been paired with, this can be controlled by either disconnecting at the device i.e. remove or switch off bluetooth. Alternatively, returning the earbuds to the charging case/box and shutting the lid has the same effect. I would doubt the earbuds can be charged on a charging mat outside of the charging case/box, but whether they can be charged on a charging mat when they are in the case/box I'm not able to confirm. Not sure this actually answers your questions, apologies if not.

Use the BOSE MUSIC App to carry out a firmware update on the earbuds. Then in the App select BOSE SPORTS EARBUDS and press the SETTINGS Cog. Under CONTROL you can toggle the VOLUME setting to ON. You can then SWIPE UP/DOWN on the right earbud to control volume (takes a bit of practice to perfect). Hope this is helpful.

To turn the Sport Earbuds off, place both earbuds in the charging case. Close the case, and the earbuds then turn off. If the earbuds are losing charge, please contact our customer support team, so that we can understand exactly what is going on.
