Great cable with or without conduit
Great cable with or without conduit - reviewers who install cable and want UV rating - use conduit - the Sun is very hard on everything, and Mother Nature does not forgive. We have installed with and without conduit outdoors. Anything in direct sunlight 40%+ of the day conduit is always a smart move, however this cable works fine either way. We use this cable for linking outdoor access points to gigE aggregated (aggx2) Layer 3 switches, and we use fiber after that. This cable has been used in Alaska at 60 below, in Death Valley at 115 degrees, in California, Arizona, New Mexico in The Colorado Desert, in the Windy City, Southern Wisconsin without conduit. We just installed WiFi for a golf course, 100BaseTX Internet, fiber to the edge, this cabling from Edge Switching to PPP Wireless back haul, This cable from back haul bridge links to AP's and all switching and routing in between at each remote station. Each hole on the course has a station. 9 stations (1 station per 2 holes), 36 access points (2 per hole). The setup is for the Marshal, and the waitresses that drive a food card to take credit cards with full menu access integrated into their existing System. Since the Marshal wanted access it doubled the amount of AP's due to Asynchronous VoIP - like a radio.

Just what the outdoor AP ordered...
Ok, this is purpose driven stuff so its quite stiff. Layers are as follows: Tough external shield, copper drain wire, heavy spiral wrapped foil shield, heavy clear plastic layer, tightly wound pairs. Colors are clearly printed on the wires with no confusion. Had to make larger service loops to avoid kinking but no doubt about the quality of this stuff. Very nice box with internal spool and wooden ends so it pulls very nicely with no kinks.

Sturdy carrier class outdoor cable
Sturdy and well made. Exactly as expected. All though, the info on the site specifically noted UV rated, but nothing in the literature it shipped with mention anything about UV. It is outdoor rated, so maybe the UV is inferred. In either case, I have used it on a tower, so time will tell.

TOUGH is an understatement!
Not going to lie, this cable is a pain to put ends on, but it's totally worth the effort! It pulls from the box like silk, and the cable is TOUGH, as advertised. I've used it in a few outdoor locations right on the beach, and so far so good! It's stood up to sun, ice, salt, and occasional flooding like a champion of all seasons!

Good quality cable for outdoor or shield required installations.
This is shipped as a spool in box package unlike many others that are a coil in box engineered to usually pull kink free. Being the spool, you get a nice, clean pull. Do note, that each end of the box has an adjustable spool brake knob. If set to high on both ends, the box will slide around on carpet as you try to pull cable. Medium seems to be a much more appropriate setting for pulling cable. The cable construction is as others have noted, and probably the biggest note is that with the polyethylene jacket, this is a more rigid product that is more likely to take damage if you happen to kink it.

Excellent cable.
Excellent cable. No gel in this. It does have a copper wire if you use the connecters that allow for a ground wire, which I don't use. Really good quality of wire. covered in a metal sheath and a plastic wrap as well. It's a little work to clear that for termination but I like that it has that. It feeds well off the spool, doesn't twist and tangle. It's been great for connecting POE wireless radios over distance.

Good value in HD cable
This is good cable. You need to be careful when burying it, but if you put it in conduit, or surround it in sand, it should be OK. The jacket is much tougher than ordinary network cable, but not as tough as, say what utilities install. Overall, good value.

Detailed explanation and photo of TOUGHCable Pro consruction
I haven't used this yet (will update if I have any issue with it, though I don't anticipate such). I just wanted to provide a photo of the cable construction for anyone who was curious. As mentioned elsewhere, this is Cat5E (Category 5 Enhanced) cable, it should not be a surprise to people that it's not Cat6, Ubiquity doesn't advertise it as such. So as such, it does not have the internal spline to separate the four pairs of wires. Otherwise, in the photo you can pretty clearly see all of the cable components - from the outside in: 1. The exterior sheath ("weatherproof jacket"), and within that: 2. The Nylon ripcord 3. The foil shielding, which would electrically connect to the shield of a 8P8C (RJ45) connector, and within that: 4. A clear, light interior sheath ("cable shield'), and within that: 5. The 4 twisted pairs of wiring (24 AWG, solid core) 6. The solid copper ESD drain wire (which you'd connect to a ground/etc.) Hopefully this helps for anyone who is trying to figure out exactly what the construction of this cable is like. Good luck!

I have a 300m run of this and it transfers data rapidly. Highly recommended.

It is a good quality outdoor shielded cable. Note, because all these layers inside, it is quite hard to put regular connector in. Use good quality connectors or you will be disappointed. I will buy again, for sure. It is install once and forget cable. Good for POE applications. The only thing I wish it has bigger drain wire.
