Simple, Subtle, and Surprisingly Good
Letโs be honest โ plain yogurt doesnโt usually get anyone excited. Itโs the quiet one in the fridge, often overshadowed by fruit flavours and fancy toppings. But Alproโs Plant-Based Soya Yogurt (Plain) has quietly earned its place in my everyday routine, and hereโs why. This isnโt just a โgood for a dairy-free optionโ kind of product. Itโs genuinely pleasant: versatile, smooth, and surprisingly satisfying, without trying too hard. First Impressions The tub itself is minimal and clean-looking โ very โplant-based and proudโ without being preachy. Opening it up, the texture is immediately impressive. Itโs thick but not gloopy, and holds its shape on the spoon. Visually, itโs like any standard natural yogurt, but the real surprise comes with the first taste. Taste & Texture Letโs talk flavour. Itโs mild โ and I mean that in the best way. Thereโs no overwhelming soy aftertaste, just a clean, slightly nutty creaminess with a very light tang. Itโs not too sweet (which I personally love), but itโs also not aggressively sour like some dairy-free yogurts can be. Texture-wise, itโs lovely and smooth. Creamy enough to feel indulgent, but light enough that you donโt feel weighed down. It mixes well into porridge, sits beautifully under fruit, and works surprisingly well in savoury dishes too โ think curries, dips, even dressings. Why It Works Alproโs plain soya yogurt is one of those products thatโs easy to underestimate. But if youโre looking for a plant-based base thatโs high in protein, low in sugar, and gentle on your stomach โ this is it. Itโs made with live cultures, fortified with calcium and B12, and doesnโt contain any added nonsense. Itโs also allergen-friendly, gluten-free, and suitable for vegans. How I Use It โข Stirred into overnight oats with berries and a drizzle of maple syrup โข As a base for smoothies (it blends beautifully) โข Dolloped on top of spicy lentil soup โข Even in baking โ it subs in nicely where dairy yogurt would go Final Thoughts Alpro Plain Soya Yogurt isnโt flashy, but itโs solid. Itโs the kind of product you can rely on โ clean, versatile, and easy on the conscience. It wonโt steal the spotlight, but it will quietly support half your breakfasts, some of your snacks, and the occasional accidental recipe win. Rating: 4.5/5 Unassuming, versatile, and a staple in the making.

Keto friendly & low sugar
I'll admit the first day I did notice it to be a bit different from regular yoghurt, but immediately after it's tasted just as good and has a sweetness to it. Tastes good with a handful of berries, I like mine with some raspberries or strawberries. Keto friendly and almost sugar free (10g carbs for the whole thing).

Not good or bad
Not good or bad, definitely not the same texture as normal yogurt, more watery and it didnโt have a taste which made it easier to add flavour like vanilla but it still wasnโt the same. Not the best replacement for yogurt

not good
I wouldn't call it 'plain'. It's sweet, I wasn't able to use it with savory food etc.

Revolting, I would give 0 stars if I could
I'm a big fan of good quality, normal yogurt - the taste, the health benefits. A family member accidentally bought this Alpro plain 'yogurt', and I was curious so tried a tiny bit. What can I say? I expected it would be bad, but this was perhaps the most revolting item of 'food' I'd ever tried in my whole life. Weird after taste and not good for you at that. Avoid.
