Says what it does and does what it says! This gyroscope is of surprisingly high-quality and comes with excellent bearings that enable the flywheel to spin fast enough to show how gyroscopic precession works. Great for teaching young kids about gyroscopes. Highly recommended and would buy again.

Within a day I was able to get this working really well. It does vibrate a little bit due to the wheen being very slightly unbalanced, but this isn't a problem. Mine can spin upright for over 4 mins quite easily. My record is 6m30s on a polished stone benchtop.. and it stayed upright the whole time, even when it stopped spinning!! I'm going to try filing it a little as someone suggested, to perfect the balance.

Ball bearing performance is a treat. Slight vibration from balance is annoying but acceptable. Filing a chunk off the inside of the rim significantly improved performance.

I bought this for my grandson because his sister broke the first one I sent him. I waited to write the review because I was not sure how he would like it, and I have not opened it. He loves it and says it is sturdier than his first one and well balanced. That’s all I need to know so I would recommend it.

I teach existing pilots to fly a specific type of jet aircraft and had one of these kids come though that was all about pushing buttons but had extremely few hours hand flying an aircraft. I went back to the basics to determine his knowledge level and found him lacking in a lot of aerodynamics basics including this subject so I bought the gyro for him which kept him entertained for a short while. This is a NICE piece of work and ball-bearings make a huge difference in run time. Quality training instrument, much more than a kids toy I thought.

We were given a plastic bodied gyroscope for free recently, and I was excited to show my kids the cool things I remembered from my own childhood that one could do with a gyroscope. Only the gyro was so poorly made, it couldn't do *any* tricks (no gravity defying stunts, string walking, etc.) it was terrible. So I searched for a quality gyroscope on amazon, and voila! Enter Djuinostar! It is solidly made, all metal, with ball bearings for the shaft - excellent construction. It has a slightly different method for starting the windup with the string, but it's fairly simple once it's understood, and my 8 and 10 year olds had no problems after a few attempts. The gyro spins very cleanly, little to no vibration, slow "wind down" (so you have a decent amount of time per spin up to try things out.) Package comes with a stand, plenty of extra string, and wax. We've played with it for a couple of weeks now, and the string is still in good shape & gyroscope is perfect, even with a few falls onto the floor (carpeted, mind you.) I didn't want to spend 40-50 bucks for a quality gyroscope, and this one is perfect combination of quality and price (at time of writing, under 20 bucks). Recommended! (Tip: If you have an air compressor with blower nozzle, you can *really* get that thing spinning!)

The materials included references to a guarantee, but I couldn't figure out how to contact the seller. The overall product is as described, but is very poorly made. The bearings have a large gap where the spinner inserts into the frame and 1/2 the time my kids would use it the strong would get caught in the bearing and become knotted. It would also not remain steady unless you pulled very hard. Even then, if you get 15 seconds of upright spin that was a great run. I strongly encourage you to look at a better gyro - this one was cheap and frustrating. I would not buy it again ... and am looking at getting a different one that works. I supposed if you completely broke - I still wouldn't use this. I was trying to teach my kids the principles of gyroscopes (90 deflection and balance) and the device has removed my kids interest.
