Perfect for my use
I use the miter box to cut the zinc channel for framing stained glass panels. It works like a charm and I love the pull saw bc a push saw is always difficult to use in a miter box.

Great little tool!
Bought this to help in construction of my first dollhouse & its furniture. Easy to use by a complete novice at woodworking of any kind. Works best when to work surface: I used wide painter's tape (wlhat I had at hand), though a good utility tape would be more than adequate to secure this to the edge of a table or other stand Saw itself is sharp enough for the woods I've been cutting - pine, basswood, balsa & MDF/composite board - but quite safe because of the angle & closeness of the teeth. I've used it to cut various plastics, too, with good results. Novice note: When cutting smallbpieces, account for the thickness of the blade when laying out multiple pieces on the same piece of wood! I would definitely buy this again, should I need to, & would recommend it to a friend.

Great product within its limits
I am on my third one of these. Within the limits of their design, they are great tools. As many have commented, these are made of plastic. They will wear over time if you are not careful. They key is to use light even strokes. You are nut cutting 2x4s. I own several of the aluminum miter boxes that others would suggest you use. Mine have all has large, sloppy gaps to prevent the saw from binding and produce less than satisfactory results. The worst wear will be to base of the thing as you cut through the wood. It would probably help to add a piece of thin wood to act as a sacrificial base. I have used these miter boxes mainly for building wooden ships and planes and love the ease and accuracy the provide. The lip on the bottom edge allows you to brace it against your workbench or table edge for stability. The comments about it only being good for balsa are not valid. I cut mainly hardwoods like walnut and mahogany with this, and as long as you don't try to rush the cut, it works very well. Could it be better? Of course. I'd like to see lugs on the side to screw it down. I'd also like to see some kind of work holding system added that works. The pins provided are not very useful for the work I do. The price is the redeemer though. I don't mind replacing this every couple years at such a low price.

Works for Model Airplanes
I purchased this to make accurate cuts on Balsa wood for model airplanes. It works great! However, it is made of plastic and the operator could "cut it in half" in time, or if they are overly aggressive. But it works for me. It makes very accurate cuts. Another option would be to make the saw not capable of cutting through the plastic. It might be nice if the miter were wider to allow wider pieces of wood to be cut 3.25" or 4.25" would be good. The saw is wide enough, but the plastic could be wider.

Fron All Angles
This was the lest expensive Miter Box listed, I like it excellent for the price. I use mine to make inlays, that involves glue-lots of glue. So no matter what I buy I will have to replace and that will be with anouther one of these. If you hold it up and look @ it from 90ยฐ angle it's shaped like capital J(with the "T" top). So one lip hangs over the side- as good as clamps. I place on top of 2x4 with the back facing me since it's packaged with a pull saw( cut on pull only). The plastic can be a drawback if you go @ it like a crazed beaver chewing up the angeled slots. The angels are accurate 30ยฐ,45ยฐ,60ยฐ.67.5ยฐ, and the completing angle 22.5ยฐ. The 1/8" thick plastic slots are cut at the proper angle, so if your chew plastic you may be using too much force or thick saw. I like the three peg Cam clamps thay fit into the box. The columns have a peg whole every1/2" and each column is offset 1/4". So you have good Controle over the wood slippage. Hope all the detaisl help but if treat it like its supposed to be treated like a hobbie miter is a good tool

Handle cracked upon reciept.
The handle is cracked. The securing pegs could be redesigned for better fit, and the plastic may seem too fragile for anything but the softest materials like basswood or cedar. The particular saw I revived was not very sharp. I wondered if it had been used. After all, the handle is noticeably cracked and splintered. This mitre box looked to be a better purchase because of the securing holes and pegs. But like they say, all that glitters is not gold. For the money, it would be fair in price if it wasn't cracked, but it works okay. Not great but okay. The size is good.

Absolutely Amazing
This is one of the best hobby miter boxes I have ever purchased. Absolutely square, extremely well manufactured, and instructions provided for hobbyists that do not understand itโs a pull saw. One of the few non aluminum miter boxes I purchased.

OMG that miter box is great. A lot of cut settings in it
OMG that miter box is great. A lot of cut settings in it. It is plastic so you have to be careful not to twist the saw. I would have loved it is it was made of metal. But you can't have everything. Well worth the money. The saw works very decently too.
