The best nail trimmers
They are incredibly easy to use and cut the nail super easily, leaving no rough edges.

BEST Nail Trimmers EVER!
Far and away the best nail trimmers I have ever used! I did a lot of review reading and there were (aren’t there always) negative reviews and even more good reviews. I was worried with how cheap they are but at the same time, they are cheap, so why not give them a try. All of the reviews that say they are super sharp are right! There absolutely none of the scary snapping that happens with heavier and less sharp trimmers in the pliers style or the guillotine style. These are so sharp that even my thick nailed dog who has always been terrified of nail trims didn’t flinch until I accidentally nicked the second to the last nail. Even after that, he gave me his foot right back for that last nail. He had really long nails when we got him as a rescue with really long quicks and these worked so well that I was able to shave off nail at multiple angles around the quick so that we might actually be able to shorten them up finally! Some people complained that the latch would flip and cause the clippers to lock while in use. Yes, that happens if you hold them so that gravity pulls it down into position, but simply change your position or, if you are comfortable not using the guard, turn them over. Problem solved. The guard is easy to move and if you really need it, check that it is in place before trimming the next nail, but not so easy to move that it falls down. These are very slim and easy to hold. Since they are so sharp, there was no problem with them cutting into my hand when I squeezed. I have tried so many different nail clippers and had even resorted to using nail files (a lot of them!) on the first dog I mentioned. His nails are so hard that even low grit files wore out after just 2 or 3 nails. The clippers glided right through without giving him that squeezing feeling like a lot of plier style trimmers do. All in all, I could not recommend these more over every other nail trimmers I have tried over the last 30 years. These are my favorite! I think I might even buy a pair for my mother in law who has several dogs and one with even thicker nails than ours.

They don't crush the nails, cleanly cuts right thru, with very minimal noise.
A groomer friend of mine has always used these. We worked together and she urged me to just try them. I had been a vet tech for 12 yrs prior to my learning to groom. So, I tried them on a shitzu, we're great, started thinking, let's try a harder type nail, I tried em out on a basset hound absolutely fell in love, but before I'm gonna shell out big bucks, I'm gonna give em the test. At the time we groomed a 240lb. Great Pyrenese. I was amazed. They are so easy to use, to hold, and you don't have to squeeze the handles hard at all. Plus for me I'm a weakling. About all those bucks, I groom about 25-30 babies a week, cats too. That's roughly 240-300 nails trimmed a week. I have bought 2 pair in 13 yrs. I have never paid more than $7 and see em around mostly for bout $5-6. They are sharp, safe, very easy to use, and I would Def recommend for 1st time nail trimming dog owners. I hope they never change them, they work way to well. They may look chintzy, hands down best out there, they last forever. Thanks Miller Forge

Great clippers with one minor flaw
I don't typically write a product review after only one use, but this one made a good enough impression that I felt it was warranted. Also, this is my first time cutting my dog's nails. Overall, these are great clippers and easy to use. I have a Bernese Mountain Dog with dew claws that don't need to be removed so they get sharp because there's no way for her to wear them down outside. She likes giving hugs so you can imagine how painful that can be. Anyway, these cut the tips off very easily. The ends are a little rough, which is to be expected, but you could always file them if you wanted. The one negative is that the guard that prevents you from cutting into the quick is very loose. You end up having to hold the guard in place with your fingers while cutting. I still would recommend these. Good price and otherwise easy to use.

Excellent Small Clippers for Big Dogs
I am very happy with these little clippers. They are significantly sharper, and more effective than two other brands I have tried (one a well-known name brand from Walmart). I have been using these for 11 months to trim the nails of my two large, 90 lb. Irish Setters. Other clippers I tried were so dull and harsh cutting that it upset my dogs and caused clipping to be a very stressful situation (and they cost significantly more!). With these Miller’s Forge clippers the big red boys are much more relaxed - I won’t go so far as to say they now enjoy being clipped, but with a few cheese treats we get the job done in about ten minutes with little fuss. The only negative I can think of is that you need to hold these the right side up, otherwise the safety lock will slide into place in the middle of your cutting session. This isn’t a big deal, if this happens just rotate the clippers 180 degrees and you’ll be able to clip away without further problems. Also, for what it’s worth, I use these with the safety depth setting piece rotated out of the way so I can better see what I’m doing. Don’t let the low price fool you - these are very good clippers! P.S. If, like me, you occasionally get too carried away and draw blood, you may wish to invest in a small jar of Cardinal Laboratories Styptic Powder. I have only had to use it once — yeah- i’m that good :-) — but I was very impressed with how quickly it stopped a gushing flow of blood. You don’t need much, a 1.5 ounce container should last you a long time.

Works great
I have a lab mix dog. Her nails had gotten very long and the pair of nail clippers I owned ,purchased from Walmart ,did not do a good job and pinched my palm, due to the poor design. I found the millers forge stainless steel dog nail clipper, plier style after looking over quite a few choices on amazon. I wanted clippers that were sturdy, would hold up well during my dogs lifetime, would not hurt my hands when using them ( like the crappy clippers from Walmart ). And , last but not least, be a reasonable price. I found all of that with these clippers. I am very satisfied with them. My dog stays comfortable when I use them. They do not squeeze her nails , they cut through cleanly. I am very pleased with the quality of them . They are made very well and I believe they will hold up well for a very long time. I am a woman with small hands and these clippers fit my hands well, do not hurt my hand while using them and, best of all, it does not take a tremendous force to cut my dogs nails now. She has very hard nails and these clippers slice through them like butter. Buy these clippers. You will not be sorry. They are a great price, quality made and work beautifully . What more could you want?

Sharp and lightweight
I have large GSP with huge thick black nails (approx as wide as a pencil). After receiving these clippers they felt lighter and smaller than the clippers I am used to. I am shocked at how sharp they are and the ease that they cut through the nails. The cutting area is more V/U shaped vs the more semi circle curved clippers. Little bit of a learning curve. I thought the smaller thinner handle would be uncomfortable , but the clippers are so sharp it was not an issue. Overall very happy

Not sure if the design changed, can't rate them as 5 stars anymore.
Updated review. I bought a new pair, and thought maybe it was just a fluke that they weren't working great? Got another pair. I've ordered so many of these. Both the last two pairs catch, the guard is floppy... the red handle covers slide. The clippers themselves feel off. I guess it's time to find another go to pair. --- I bought these at the suggestion of a few friends, after having bought several other clippers to trim my dog's nail that I just didn't like My dog has major foot issues, anxiety wise, and I needed clippers that didn't tug, cut clean and could take small slices easily. These handled my medium sized Parsons Terrier/Bull Terrier mix nails with ease. He has sturdy nails, but they're also brittle because of a thyroid disorder. For the price (under $7!) these are definitely worth a try. I've bought all sorts of clippers, ones our local pet store swore were the best of the best, but these do the best job. No weird "grab" or twist, no tugging of the nail. It's a quick job. The red handle cover has popped off once or twice but I just pop it back on. After misplacing our clippers I've since purchased a few extra pairs, nothing else works as well on my dog's nails. UPDATE: I've since ordered a few pairs. For my mom's dogs, who range in size from 6 pounds to 15 pounds, and they work great for all of them. A friend even got a pair to try on her dog, and used them on her larger bunny. The range of sizes of animals we've had these work on blows my mind.

Impressed with how sharp these are
Incredibly quick delivery. Super impressed. I ordered these and they came the next day. Super sharp and they do go through the nails like butter. My dog normally hates the sound the clippers make when clipping his nails but these are super quiet as well and it is so much easier cutting his nails now
