Will this work to connect a usb to a roku to watch movies from drive?

Not sure about a Roku but it works flawlessly for a fire stick. I have a 1Tb portable drive attached to it for storage of down loads as well as playbacks.

Is there a cable like this that supports USB 3.0?

I bought a 3 packnof these cables and 2 of them I have 64 gb 3.0 thumb drives. And the other 1Tb portable hard drive connected to Firesticks and they all work great.
