Import Multi-Vehicle (ATF) Full Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid 1 GA

I keep my autos running for a long time, and this Valvoline Import ATF part no. 820681 is the most compatible with the original D-II specified for my 2001 Tacoma. Earlier versions of the bottle showed "recommended for Mercon, Dexron II & III" whereas newer bottles show vehicle compatibility. Same part number, same oil, but apparently something with licensing where they don't list DEXRON anymore. The viscosities match closely plus it's a full synthetic and works great in the Tacoma.

Works great for my 2001 Mitsubishi Montero. I used about 10 quarts in total which included flushing the system. So from empty it took about 5 quarts to get the level just right. Also, check the proper procedure for the level check for your vehicle because, for mine, the engine must be running to get the correct measurement. Since the fluid change I've noticed much smoother shifts and my shifter seems to slide more smoothly when shifting from P to R and D, etc. I'd say this stuff is on par with OEM fluids. If you need an SP-III compatible fluid for a great value I'd highly recommend this stuff.

This is a good routine maintenance product for your Import Vehicle. I've used this on my older 2010 Mazda5 as well as other older "Import" vehicles. I have had absolutely no issues using this product, especially on older, higher mileage vehicles. I abide by whatever the Owners Manual maintenance recommendations are. This product is a good value for the price. I was pleased with this purchase. It will revitalize the viscosity of your vehicle's transmission fluid. It will promote smooth shifting and reliable automatic transmission operation. It is a routine maintenance lubricant product. It is not a "miracle fix" for already damaged automatic transmissions. I also replace the transmission filter as part of this vehicle routine maintenance task, including completely cleaning the magnets inside the transmission oil pan, as well as cleaning the magnetic drain plug. Some believe there is no real cause to replace the automatic transmission fluid in modern era vehicles. Again, my choice is to abide by the Vehicle Owners Manual maintenance interval recommendations. There is also something significant to be said for reasonable transmission loads, sudden erratic vehicle acceleration and driving habits in general. This Valvoline Full Synthetic ATF is a good product. I would rate it 5-Stars if I knew it was identical to the vehicle OE transmission fluid. Regardless it has performed well and without incident whenever I have used it (in higher mileage automatic transmissions, typically over 100K miles).
